Nah, Unless your last names Lawrence, Championship contention is off the cards.
Hence why i said "Solid Results".

It’s something that’s always baffled me… what is the upside? Is it just like a weird dopamine hit?

I mean to be fair, she is an ugly old nag.  How is telling the truth sexist?

Wait until your my age, she ain't that bad looking, and she's trim built.

However she is still a politician.

She’s also an absolute cunt.

I know everyone’s stoked on the possibility of another big name stepping into this sport but I’d rather MJ not be affiliated with moto, between the countless stories of him being an absolute asshole and him seemingly being dodgy and touchy around people over the last year, it doesn’t seem worth it even if he’s putting money directly in Justin Cooper’s or Malcolm Stewart’s pockets. I wish Nike would rename Jordan’s the Mutombo’s

Nice to see some lgbtq representation in here. No one is copping the mutumbo 12’s don’t be such a poofta. MJ is a legend who will win at all costs. Him and reedy forming a team would be unreal for the sport.

Huuuuige Jordan fan here..

Also a Reed superfan, this would either be the best thing in the world.. or a complete shitshow haha

Those are 2 very strong personalities.. that team would not accept “we took a second tonight, it’s the best we had”

Seeing Danny and MJ work well gives me hope, a guy like Reed would work well with a guy like MJ 🤣

Reed only works well with himself.

I get why this is a thing, because Reedy obviously has an ego, and doesn’t accept good enough, as it is with most champions. But like or hate him, it ignores the fact that he ran a team that was one of the most successful rider owned teams ever.
E.g. you had legends like the Goose who worked with Chad at Suzuki in 09 then chose to join team 22, stuck with him, and to this day counts him as a friend. Then there’s Lars who credits Reed with enabling him to acquire the skills he has now to be a great team manager.
How many other elite level riders formed a team of elite level people in less than six months and took it to the factory teams and won?
You can’t do that unless you can work well with others.

Yikes.  These threads are the sort of thing that happens when we are between seasons.  We should create a sub folder on here for Limbo Posts.  A cantankerous group here.  So much cognitive horsepower my brain is drifting.  5/30 will be here before you know it.  Relax, don’t do it . . . . . . . .

My thoughts:

I won’t believe it till we see him at one of the races. Even for a billionaire, I would think he would attend at least 1 race in person soon before getting involved.

Also, lawsuit coming from MJ to finally get FELD to create a real profit sharing contract for the riders like they deserve? That would be great…

If this rumor turns out to be true I think they have a good chance of being successful, not to mention how much good this will do for the sport with optics/marketing/viewership.

Plus, it gives me a reason to wear one of my 8 pairs of J’s I got, at a SX race. (Used to be sneakerhead when I was teenager)

I had the privilege of getting to know Mr Jordan just a bit during the time he owned the Jordan Motorsports Suzuki Team.  If he chooses to get involved in our sport, I can assure you that it will attract even more new eyeballs than the Deegan circus.

Will it, though?

AMA Superbike didn't exactly take off in popularity because of Jordan. Granted, SX is already in a better starting point to capitalize on it compared to where AMA Superbe was. But still, "normies" will just never be able to relate to this sport.

I’d say he brought a marginal amount of “new” or very casual fans to NASCAR in the last few years. It’s been a bit of a kerfuffle between his team suing NASCAR, having Bubba Wallace as a driver, and then bounced back with Tyler Reddick winning the first three races of the year. I will say a lot of their cars look bitching though. It’s nice to see a new approach on how to make a stock car look good, albeit even if it’s the dumpster fire of the NextGen car.

Using ClubMX as a platform to stay relevant long enough to set something up with MJ, then dump Club, is very typical Chad Reed behavior.

He did not dump Club…not sure where you people are getting that from. It was said at the very beginning that he was only helping Club through SX and would then be working with his kids through the summer….They will continue to live and train at Club…

What's not BS however is that I won money off MJ at Daytona one year. I'll never forget the look on his face when I won that bet Smile

Don't know from NASCAR. But in the parallel sports I was was then very much involved in and continue to follow the fortunes of...

And as to the importance of Jordan having a motorcycle racing team...

I'd say you have to look at that with the context of the whole selling of AMA Pro Racing within the timeline.

Coinciding with the mortgage recession, of course.

MJ's involvement with AMA Superbike racing was real, and very much a big thing at the time. But fate wouldn't have it.

Ripples in the pond with ramifications that played out much differently between the dirt and the tarmac.

The pits struggled, but survived. The paddock was decimated.

That was then. Albeit nearly 20 years later, I don't find the idea all that far-fetched that a new page could be turning.

Throwing a haymaker out for fun: Chase Sexton.

Should this rumour have legs, Chad doesn't do something like this if he can't win. Chase is the only prospect in that window that's 'get-able' currently (I understand he's contracted). Tomac is KTM/done, Roczen isn't moving, Lawrences are sewn up, Deegan is essentially sewn up. Everyone else is B level talent - Joey, Malcolm come to mind. Cooper Webb potentially, but after this season I just don't see him as a top prospect going forwards.

Chase gets released/bought out from Kawi thanks to Jordan money, and on a satellite effort under Reed, can develop a bike/the bike however they want, with a big budget to tinker with things. Both are already Alpinestars head to toe, so no gear conflicts.

Chad rode with him a bit a few years ago. Can probably see/understand what Chase is looking for in a bike, and likely knows how to deliver the feel he's looking for, given his past history of chasing (and finding), a feeling.

This is the only answer on this entire thread that was actually thought out.

Jordan has never been to a SX race, why would he start a team?

No I don’t think that’s true. I think he hung out with Stew at Indy 01

Stewart was only 15 and not racing SX at Indy 01 ?

The cost is relatively low to win the whole thing(compared to other sports). Jordan could probably have a championship in his first 10 million if he aligns with the right manager. 5 million could get then a championship caliber signed. Probably for a couple years. Jordan loves winning, and the cost is doable. Esp. If its a write off anyway(basically not caring of it loses some money). Im blown away they dont do a boot. Easy money

The one thing Jordan learned when he had his road racing team from 2005 to 2015 (or whenver it was) was that the factories do not like to get beat.  There was no way Suzuki or Yosh was going to give him equipment that would let him beat them. Same thing when Pro Circuit was doing motors for Factory Connection a number of years back. So even if they come, and they can get good equipment, but wont be as easy as just coming with a big budget....

Could be a perfect time for them to align with Husky and lease factory bikes. Get Malcom Stewart and keep him on a husky.

I hope the rumors end up coming true. Would be cool to see what they could do together. Chad and Jordan.
