Any updates or news on Mirtle? It was a massive topic across the sport and then poof, gone.
I predict the same happens with the Daniel Blair story. The momentum has already slowed and nobody in the industry seems to care other than us. Nothing will change with RC, Leigh, or anyone else. Unfortunately DB's feelings are not relevant with the business decisions that were made.
I'd assume the mirtl one is going to be somewhat drawn out now that a suit has been filed and it has to go through all the proceedings. I dont really think that is comparable to the DB thing at all. What more is there to update that story really? You have a disgruntled former employee and an employer and current employees who probably aren't going to say much about his story.
Ricky might give a summary at some point similar to how weege did but I dont think hes going to drop down into the tiny details and try to dispute every little thing blair said.
There's a thread on the front page with 1000 posts about the DB saga. What kind of update are you looking for?
I was mainly referring to the Mirtle story disappearing and Blairs will too.
Buddy, we're the consumers not some sort of motorcycle industry consortium brain trust.
"Momentum has already slowed" because we share news and stories, we're not trying to topple the motorcycle patriarchy.

One week news cycle in our sport.
Haha, have you read the other threads? Both of these stories brought out the pitchforks about the Lawrences and now RC/Leigh/NBC. Not a word from those sides and it will all go away. Plenty of members here and elsewhere thought RC would be gone because of this. Just funny to me.
I never thought he'd be out mid year but this kind of hate is the kind of thing that leads you to pursue other opportunities in the off season. Ego works both ways. It can make you stubborn and believe you can figure it out but it can also make you find reasons to stop doing the thing that's bruising your ego.
You may think that bc you are listening to an echo chamber of vital. You seriously think a major network (NBC) would FIRE the greatest athlete of all time in the sport in which they have him working because 40 random guys on an internet message board dont like him now?
To be honest even if all the stuff DB said is true, which I feel like some of it dramatized based on what weege said, does that really change anything for NBC? not really.
Yes I've read them, a lot of unsolicited opinions, kind of like screaming at the sky in frustration.
The popular opinion on VitalMX doesn't translate to the real world. Want proof?
Ask opinions about Neutech Tubless on VitalMX and then go to a real race and see how many people use them.
Blair's video has 272,000 views on YouTube, several social media pages have had to turn off commenting, and this is the current vital poll results. Little more heat here than 40 guys on a message board.
I'm not saying anything consequential will come from any of it but there's no way the people in charge haven't been paying attention.
Sounds like you are arguing with me and I am saying the same thing.
Oh I see what happened.
Your original post outlined the normal progression of events, so we the readers assumed you were not satisfied with that process, sort of a call to action.
Maybe add more context next time so we better understand the point you are trying to make.
My mistake. I definitely could have added more details/context
It's WAY more than 40 dudes, Leigh and RC's IG have been flooded with thousands of comments on everything they've posted (moto related or not) since DB's video was put out. I'm sure that many PM's have been sent to their social media accounts as well. I'd bet if some fans see them out and about at the races some stuff has been yelled at them too. I don't think NBC will fire either of them, but as mentioned before (and esp for RC) if his rep in the industry among fans has tanked what more can he give to the broadcast/sport? He already takes a lot of shit for his ignorance behind the microphone and that was well before all this stuff hit the fan regarding Blair. If I'm RC I'd slip away in the darkness of FL and count my money. He already said on the gypsy pod he doesn't have to do the NBC stuff he's set money wise.
It's not the money for RC, it feeds his ego that has been developed his whole life with everyone watching him and telling him how great he is. He has proven since being a rider he does not do well with criticism. He cannot just slip away because he needs people kissing his boots every week.
Well right now them boots have stepped in dog shit 😄
The people running to IG are social justice warriors and the bottom of the barrel when it comes to moto fans. DB has always been a drama queen. There’s two sides to every story. Sucks that it didn’t work out for him.
Pit Row
His upbringing created a monster. It's what made him the GOAT, but it's also what is now contributing to his (somewhat) demise. I don't think RC at his core is a bad guy, or even totally aware of what he's doing. To me it's just how he's programmed.
That call to DB giving career advice probably came from RC actually believing he was helping. The guys posting on here about these great interactions they've had with RC don't surprise me either.
The bottom line is he's NOT good at the current job he holds, and nobody is COMPLETELY denying that. From DC in Racerhead to even Mathes on Pulp, everyone says he has "gotten better" but he's not perfect in the booth. Anyone say anything similar about DB? Nope. He's universally praised in the booth. Granted RC and DB don't have the same role in the booth, which should also matter.
DB didn't handle the corporate scene well either, maybe he has regrets maybe he doesn't, but he actually tried to let it all go for the most part. Even when pushed on Gypsy.
I'm definitely team DB on this whole thing, but it's just not a good situation no matter how you look at it. I'm happy RC and Diffey are feeling it on social media, maybe it will make a difference.

I can assure you the overwhelming majority of folks in the industry support Blair, knew he was better for the job, and knew he was bullied out of the club.
So what? Gather all the DB fans and cry about it on social media? That’s life. NBC decides who they hire, not Vital or IG. I have no issue with DB. I support his contributions and am also a Patreon member of Main Event Moto. No hate here. The whole thing is stupid.
I can see both perspectives, thinking all those people are whining and on the flip side, this is how customers make their voice heard. At some point, you have to consider feedback from your customers (the fans) or you'll suffer.
Well that's how you think, and clearly thousands of others think they need to voice an opinion. It's not like Blair is coaching them and steering them to have this reaction.
In general, people don't like bullies and are going to side with the under dog. You have a guy who was clearly more fit for a job get bullied out of the position, and after getting prodded for years as to why he left, he spilt the beans.
You can view it as drama queen behavior, or you can view it as calling out someone else's bad behavior.
NBC does decide who they hire, and they make shitty choices regularly. Thanks to social media, folks have a voice and are choosing to use the platform to push back.
"So what" seems comes from bitter folks who have been taken advantage of and didn't speak up in their own lives and feel everyone else should take that same path. Let me guess, you have a list of examples where that happened in your own career and you took it on the chin?
You know it.

I’ve got better things to do than deal with your very imaginative theories. You have always come off as thinking your better than others. Thanks for displaying it yet again.
Soft hands, brother.
Wild coming from someone saying people with a certain opinion are "bottom of the barrel".
In the original case in Florida (Lawrence v. Mirtl), Mirtl filed a motion to extend the time period for him to respond to the complaint. Nothing has happened in that case yet.
A couple of weeks ago Wasserman initiated arbitration proceedings against Mirtl in California. Those proceedings aren't public, but yesterday Wasserman filed a separate action here in Texas seeking a TRO. They claim Mirtl stole from their clients and stole from them. Hard to tell if their claims are limited to the Lawrences.
You have been updated.
Great information! The silence of the media and both sides is more what I am referring to.
It doesn't matter what side you are on, the "instant" information age elevates everything to catastrophe level and then it disappears. Even the "end" of Covid was this way.
The reality is it just co workers not getting a long at work. Someone is always more of a prick than others. There is also that one guy always looking for personal gain. Being that it is MotoSports industry doesn't change a thing. Basically work conflict just as every day real world stuff...Referring to the broadcasting work place violence,,
Can’t believe you are crediting DV with a quote from the largest tool to ever hit the booth. That was Rutledge.
