Currently live in New England, vet rider with a remote fulltime job. Looking to head down south for a month (or 2) at a time in an RV and stay at a motocross track . Preferably ride 3-4x/week (including after work 4pm -> )
Looking in areas around NC/SC/TN etc.. basically, places as far north as possible but are still open year-round.
Anyone have any track recommendations that fit my criteria?
Thank you

North Carolina Motorsports Park in Henderson for starters. Others will be along to help.
Club MX when they’re open, County Line, West Craven, Weinerts (if prepped), Cow Branch. All tracks we’ve stopped at on our trips south. Plenty more the locals could chime in on. Most of these are along the coast minus club. We generally start at club on a weekend, head to county line, then weinarts, west craven, and cow branch. Sort of ride our way home to PA. Also NCMP (was there unprepped not so good but probably good on a weekend) or Tomahawk in WV if it’s not too cold and crappy. Always love heading down south in February. Everyone is much more laid back and friendly. You’ll enjoy it. 👍🏻
Try the Shoals mx in Donald's sc
You are going to be better off looking in the NC area, TN does not have any of what you are seeking. Any of the decent tracks are usually only open on weekends, weather permitting, and most will take a 2 month(ish) break for the couple of colder winter months.

Further than you wanted but monster mountain in Alabama is so fun.
GTR is another option.
If it was me I'd stay somewhere that has a sandy base since the clay tracks will be closed for a week every time it rains.
There are a ton of fun tracks to visit on the weekends if you're able to leave your home base.
421MX, Birch Creek, Lake Sugar Tree, Silver Valley, East Bend, Countyline, Travelers Rest, Club, NCMP, Cow Branch, Windy HIll, plus there's usually some winter racing indoors in the Asheville area.
I know you mentioned farther north the better, however Fl has a few, and to be honest Waldo MX is usually pretty much full with north guys during the winter, and pretty central to a good amount of other tracks, depending on your visit, maybe able to hit up a Winter AM event?
We are losing one this weekend. Tampa MX has it’s final ride this weekend.
Texas winter series
Highly recommend Monster Mountain!
I heard he's opening a new place up somewhere, or at least looking to do so. Fingers crossed.
Oh no! What happened? I hadnt heard this, but also dont follow those guys super close...
GTR is now called Master's Motoplex. West Craven, Jimmy Weinart's place are about 45 minutes apart. NCMP is another great one. The are all open 7 days a week.
West Craven has a lot of sand so even if it rains it is still rideable.
The garbage dump is expanding its footprint, consuming the track.
Monster Mountain in Tallassee, Alabama or
Southern Training Facility & Raceway in Bainbridge, GA (used to be Ezra Lusk's property) just a few miles from Millsaps & Georgia Practice Facility in Cairo, GA.
These are a little further south but will have more consistent weather.
NC has such an incredible range of tracks.
West Craven, Windy Hill, CowBranch & NCMP are some of our favorites.
West Craven & NCMP are places we’ve seen people base from for RV adventures like you’re describing…
What riding temperature's are you shooting for?
Highs in the 50’s NC/SC border and January and February we do get spells of below 32 freezing temps for a couple weeks.
If you are looking for warmer it’s worth the drive to FL its not that much further and there are lots of different tracks.
Welcome 1st time poster.
Pit Row
It’s not a garbage dump. It is byproduct from mining Phosphate called Phosophogypsum (sp?). It is real nasty shit, contains all kinds of heavy metals and has hints of radioactivity. The state has no clue what to do with it so they let Mosaic stack it up in huge mounds all across the state. If you want to see the aftermath of this stuff reaching the environment, look up the Piney Point disaster (same company, not far away from the track). I completely despise them for a million reasons, I have personally seen what their raping of the land has done to our estuaries and wildlife. Mosaic is purchasing the lots for close to 1.7 million, which was agreed upon five years ago.
The track was leased from the stock car track next door, which is also having its final race this weekend. I’m actually sitting in traffic on my way there now to camp out for the weekend. I have spent hundreds of days at both facilities. East Bay Raceway park is one of the most historic dirt tracks in the country, and home of the famed winter nationals where multiple series race at the track for a week long each for a month in the beginning of the year. I know a lot of you will understand when I say this has been weighing on me very heavily for the past few months. I don’t do much of anything other than ride and go to circle tracks and Tampa had some of the best dirt in FL and East Bay is easily one of the raciest tracks ever built. We are truly losing two gems.
Had no idea, just assumed it was garbage. Thanks for the info. Sucks to lose the track; will be there on Sunday to enjoy the last of it.
I don't know about staying long term and so forth. But, South Fork MX in Virginia is nice. I too am a vet rider and enjoyed riding that track and it's safe layout. From NY it was about a 9hr drive, so not terrible.
I'm heading south next week, from NJ
Wanting to explore some new tracks in VA and NC
Any ideas on which tracks might be open Thursdays or Fridays?
Not sure how it is now but Waldo was always prime. Close to entertainment, also was a fun track open daily and multiple tracks nearby. Have to hit pax trac for sure!
