What does Haiden Deegan owe to US motocross fans?

Absolutely nothing. As a professional athlete, he only has two major responsibilities: to provide ROI to his sponsors and to make as much money as possible while he can. That’s it. Sports “patriotism” is only important to fans, which is not entirely inconsequential, but has never been a driving factor for pro athletes.

OH NO NO NO ! He owes Vital  the rights to his first born .  He owes his Fans for everything .  They have put in the work and without them he would be flipping burgers  at Jack in the box .

Outside of vital. Most fans of Moto have no idea about the Motocross of Nations. No idea….. Nor do they care.

Doesn't owe anything to anyone.

What I don't like is team deegs thinking we're all gullible morans....yes, morans.

Not a fan of athletes who break their wrist and cover it up and refer to it as a sprain. Then that same rider, for some reason goes out of his way to boast about being an American rider and at every opportunity waves the flag on the podium like he's some kinda patriot.  Then uses that same sprained wrist as an excuse as to why he's not gonna represent his country in the MXDN even though anyone with an IQ over 80 sees through that excuse as being mega weak when looking at the circumstances involved.

What do us fans owe him? We are fans of the sport so when his day in the sun is over we don't leave the sport. We go to the next racer who we like to watch for whatever reason.

This is a bunch of nonsense. Smdh. Most Pro’s won’t even acknowledge injuries. Haiden has to do what’s best for his career. Having hardware removed and being ready for Supercross is top priority. Also who are you to say who’s a patriot and who’s not?…

Deegans are fake patriots. It's all about 'murica until you actually have to do something for your country. I've never liked the kid, and this seals the deal for me.

Next year he will be all about MXDN because it's held at Ironman. I hope team USA has the balls to not pick him after this.

Bring on the downvotes, IDGAF

To be honest, without the fans of the sport, he would not earn a penny racing dirtbikes.

So at some point, it can be a good idea to pay back a little to the fans and show some gratitude to the fans/sport/industry that made you a millionare.

Sometimes it costs money to earn money…
