Ok, I know there are a lot of Dungey fans on here and they think he is the greatest thing ever, but I don't get it!! Why coast around? Or is he even coasting??

JS7, Carmichael, Reed, Mcgrath etc....They brung it every race! Titles were usually wrapped up early just like Dungey, but they RACED!!! They came to win regardless of a Title already being wrapped up.

To me, I would not want to give anyone else confidence! Just riding around the track and not charging is pathetic! Like I said in another thread. I like Dungey and he is a good kid who works hard. He trains himself which is impressive, but I have never seen the "Killer Instinct" in him that RC, MC, JS7, Reed etc...have in them. They HATE to lose no matter what is on the line.

I am not trying to ruffle any feathers. I am just saying I don't agree with what he is doing. You know you would never see any of he other Champions I mentioned doing this.
Why don't you ask Rick Johnson now about Castle Rock Colorado in 82 if backing off is ok he would tell you hell yes and why...

I wonder if the Dungey hating is because he's a Christian? The first guy I remember giving the glory to God on the podium was RJ. The only people that seemed to dislike him were the guys he raced against. Flame away.

No, I am saying I have seen him "settle" for position a lot. More than just the past 2 weekends. To include last year. Still, even with the past 2 weekends, can you really sit there and say RC and JS would have just settled?? You know better!! You have been around this sport as long as I have.
Do you remember the year Reed won six SX races in a row while RC used his head and collected the championship?

McGrath has said he knew the nights he could win and the nights he couldn't....that's why he has seven SX championships and 72 wins.

racer111 you make no sense...bubba didn't have the title wrapped up...dumbass...he was racing for it and he won it there...two years before he had it wrapped up and went out and dominated reed by jumping the 2nd half of the whoops...ur officially an idiot...dungey is not gaining any respect by douching around...he will be weak at the beginning of the outdoors for this lack of effort, waste of time...

Pretty sure Dungey has all the respect he needs from his fellow racers who he smacked around for the SX championship. He's should def be going all out to beat KW for a couple race wins, a guy he's not gonna see at the races all summer. Gimme a break. He's a rookie 450 rider for Christ's sake and he took home the title why ruin what has been a perfect season to please some keyboard warriors.

Why are some of you guys so sensitive about Dungey?

Just read through the thread, the dude that started it has been civil and not 'hatin'. I'm sure McGrath, Reed or Bubba would have caught plenty of slack if they were lapped too.

Reed and Bubba have been lapped in the same race by RC. It was a mud race and it wasn't a shorter supercross race, it was a national.

Racers understand what Weimer said in his interview today on RacerX..No point in doing something crazy when you have a job to do. Great riders always look at the big picture. Hell even weekend warriors like me do not take chances they don't have to once you have a title wrapped up. I seriously wonder how many on here even race!

he just resting up to begin taking # of wins and championships rankings from RC and JBS Evil

God doesn't race motocross or supercross. Keep that shit apart, just like church and state.

Huge Hannah fan, and every one holds him up as the all time hard core standard.

But one year he clinched the 250 crown a round early and didn't show up for the last race.

Give Dungey a break; it's been two sketchy tracks and he has the next job right up starting May 22.

Ditto that.
What has he got to gain from hanging it out on a sketchy track? If I'm RD, I'm over SX and totally focused on my national program right now.

Again, I was not bashing Dungey. Even when someone trys to be civil, some of you just have to name call.

To me, it's like when NFL teams who wrap up their Division early and decide to bench their starters for the last 2 or 3 games. When the Playoffs start, they are rusty and usually lose because they are out of sink and not clicking on all cylinders.

When you just show up at a race for the sake of showing up for a few rounds, you can't just turn it back on when the gate drops when you WANT to be serious. I think this is why RC was always so dominant. He never turned it off. He was smart when he needed to be, but he never went in to a race EXPECTING to lose.

That is my only point in all if this...

So your point is that RD is hurting his chances in the Nationals by not going all out on very sketchy supercross tracks after he already won the SX Championship?

Really?

Yes really! Someone has to win them on these "sketchy" professional tracks if that is the word you want to use. They are Professionals paid to ride on whatever track is laid out. Maybe Windham isn't racing the Nationals, but he still plans on racing SX until 2014. He is still risking whatever it takes to win. I guess some of you just don't get it. I would think trying to check out and get up front is safest place to be on the track. KDub looked like he was riding by hiself. Know what I am saying?

I would rather be riding and having a thought about church than sitting in church thinking about riding.
