People don’t want the riders to have mandatory interwiews but yet here we are speculating each time something happens…

I think he sniffed the pace and is just over it. Hope I’m wrong but man he just gave up.

Bet Tomac goes off these next few rounds.

Phoenix is a longer better suited track. Less 180's.

Tomac is not done yet.

A lot of riders were commenting on how dangerous the track was. Tomac recently has been known to back way off when he feels uncomfortable with the conditions, so it looks like thats what he did. The only problem is I dont think youre gonna be able to get away with taking 10ths this year. With Jett and Chase in top form and Coop riiight there its just not gonna work this year imo. Hopefully he comes back and rebounds next week cuz if he has another one of these he could be way back before you know it.

not sure why this is getting down votes, everything is true...  He obviously wasn't comfortable for some reason whether it be track, bike, or body something was off, and he isn't going to get away with having 10ths or even even nights out of the top 5.

Either he was sick or had arm pump issues if they missed the mark on the bike. This looked a lot like Dallas in 2019, just riding around in 12th place. Ironically in 2019 they went to Detroit the next week and he won.

I'd guess bike issue or very bad armpump

He will have to because 16 points is going to be hard to make up if the field starts separating now that we are on dry dirt and Jett and Chase finish 1st and 2nd every Saturday. Eli will have to win if he wants a shot. Also, Webb seems to have him covered too this year. We shall see.

Something that got me thinking as I was watching him cruise around still finishing as one of the top 10 best riders in the pro supecross.. I thought, damn how good must one be When you can cruise around going wide in corners to let dudes by and still be faster than 99% of dirt bike riders in the world.

I don’t know what you are talking about. My post wasn’t directed at anyone. I just made a personal observation and posted it. I don’t argue on the internet.

That was hard to watch....Sometimes Tomac acts like he doesn't want to be there?

I don't know, Eli really can be an enigma sometimes.. But if you can't handle him as Elito Mac, then you don't deserve him as Beast Mode 😎👊

Unfortunately you're only as good as your last race though, last week after main 3, I think we were wondering "is Tomac back?!", but I'm starting to adjust my expectations a little bit. Maybe he won't be able to reach championship-level Tomac anymore, but maybe he gets another Daytona win or something. I just hope I get to see him run through the pack one more time.

Regardless, a bad dude, if Jett and Chase are scalpels, Eli is a sledgehammer. I've never seen a rider make the track look more like it was being physically punished than when ET3 is rippin'. Hopefully we'll get to see it again.

As uncomfortable as he looked, if it was a flat tire or blown shock, he would have pulled off.  He started moving backwards almost immediately.  No way he would have stayed out for the whole main event with broken motorcycle.  If nothing else, it would have provided a solid excuse for that performance.  I think the silence speaks volumes in this case.

He'd had of races every season he's rode , I think this one stands out more because the level of competition and in that top ten , when you think how fast he is on his day and only has 2 titles there's a reason for that , the dungeys ,villipotos , RC they didn't have them days certainly not as often as Eli

He dog walked these guys in the 3rd main last weekend. Yeah it was a triple crown but you would think they sprint even harder in the shorter mains. Jett won easy last night and he couldn't catch Tomac last week. I don't think there is some new pace that's blowing his mind

3rd main the results are pretty much decided no one needed to run with him ( not saying he wasn't flying )

Yea hes had one of them every season, but hes had 3 this season so far and were only on race 5. His results so far this year are 9, 2, 9, 2, 10. One 10th, two 9ths, and two 2nds. I have faith that hes going to turn it around, but this really was the race it needed to happen. He was kept close by the weirdness of the start of this season, but going forward keeping up this pattern will allow the season to get out of hand. He needed to finish good this weekend, but even more so now he needs a good finish next weekend. With dry tracks and jett and chase going 1-2 he needs to turn it around this week. Going off the pattern of his season he should finish much better next weekend. but going fwd he needs to limit his bad days to being closer to the podium.

Re-watch. Look at 18:22 of main. He was keepin up with Chase till he overjumped that table. Went backwards from there. Re-injured seems possible...not bad enuf to pull off, but bad enough to go 'oh ohhh I've felt this before!' and take it easy from there to avoid total blowout and be able to race in the future.

I hope this is 100% wrong, but after last week's 3rd race, he looked in great form and he qualified well this week. Something happened....I didn't see a bike problem.

He’s currently 6th in points behind 3 former 450 Supercross champions.  I’m not saying he won’t get lucky and win a race (although I doubt it) but his championship run is over this year.  Eli is one of the all time greats, but to expect him to come back from the horrific injury he had last year in his 30s AND step up his pace to match what Jett is throwing down is just too much to ask.

He was decent in the heat race, so it seems more of an injury thing. Even with arm pump these guys do better than that.

Right, my first instinct was arm pump like everyone else. But he started going backwards so badly it seemed like something else.

If he was at his peak every-night, you guys would consider him 'average'.

If this is not an injury, we used to see this on a regular basis during the Kawi years. So he knows how to shake it off and come back. Just gets harder at 31 years old.

Eli should just stay focused on the 'comeback' in general and not any single race. If he really wants to 'beat Jett' it will have to be this summer in the Nationals. That will be his best shot at it.

ET3 has been my ride or die since 2013. He’s 31 and it shows. Its over. And I still love me some ET3. But he’s done.

You dont 'love you some ET3' if you are gonna say it's 'over'. What does that even mean? Eli Tomac still has the heart, speed, passion and most of all, the dedication to race.

Kenny had the fastest lap of the night in the main event, I think we all know this means Its not the speed. I think the adrenaline of the situation got the best of him and he pumped up. He was trying all kind of moves to try and get around Chase so he could go after Jett...I remember some similar things w Eli in the opener and early rounds of Supercrss in the past.

Bummer for sure but once you pump up its hard to charge and it turns into survival as I am sure we all know-

I hope he rebounds like he has in the past and lays down a good challenge coming from behind to beat the field. Chase seams to be riding smart for a championship, meaning he will take what he can when he can but wont risk "chase"ing down Jett if it means there's potential to hit the dirt.

I wish Cooper Webb would have been in second off the start....that 2 to go card would have had more purpose...

Bring on Zona.......

Yes, exactly. Eli is best outdoors and he will be fully back in race form by May. If he had not gotten hurt last year it would have been an epic battle. Too bad we didn't get to see that. ET3 is a four-time champ including three in a row. Only RC ever did that if I recall.

True..talking modern age. They were awesome in the 1970s though for sure. I practiced with Tony D many times. Great guy and great racer. Should have been more clear with my post.
