i still think that press day is an unfair advantage to the handfull of riders that get selected. maybe if they could only hit the triple it would be better, but these guys are riding the whole track.

I attended a press day and believe me, the press that was there had no clue of what was going to happen. Then they got on the bikes did a small section and the press was im"pressed" and all giddy as they took video and were really wowed by what they saw. It was reflected on that nights news cast on how excited they were to see this, good exposure and hopefully it got Dad to want to take the kids to see the show.
These are pro's and any pro will have things figured out in practice anyway. I really can't see much, if any, of an advantage.
Just let the riders ride a few lanes (that are still unfinished) and let the TV cameras roll. BIg deal.

People have to remember they have a huge liability if a bike gets into the stands and try to limit the bonzi type jumps that lend to that happening.
