Why do his pedals keep turning? Sneaky electric assist, or do the freehub ratchets exert enough drag energy to keep the pedals turning when his feet are off?

No such thing as a frictionless bearing.

He's riding a fixed-gear bike. No gears, brakes, or freewheel.

I was beginning to wonder how he was gonna get his feet back on. Went with dragging the rear tire just like my son used to do on his Strider bike. Laughing

Aero really is a big deal in cycling, even gains to be found in your sock material. I watched this mini documentary on Graeme Obree recently, a properly creative racer who knew how to be aero. Worth a watch if you’ve got 30 minutes

Dirty bikes aren't aero dynamic, non-crotch rocket bikes aren't aero dynamic. If you want to break the speed barrier, then go fly a x-15 or a sr-71. Too much time wasted on a non-issue.Wink

That's really cool, I had never heard this story.

Reminds me of the John Britten story. I had the pleasure of seeing one of these bikes at the Barber Museum.
