This isn’t bike related, but my 4 year old daughter wants an atv. Tried the bike already and she isn’t a big fan. Wondering if anybody has any experience with those cheap atvs for kids? Don’t want to spend big money on something she won’t ride. Thanks

Pass. Keep an eye out for a used reputable brand IMO.

There cheap for a reason. If you do get one, check up on the parts availability first.

They’re fine if you go into it knowing that it’s disposable. A lot of parts interchange between brands and some Polaris mini parts will work. They’re actually decently reliable until they get ridden by older or more aggressive riders. Totally worth what they cost new if she has fun on it for a few years and you can get a couple hundred back out of it.

I have pretty decent experience with repairing these as a local parts store sells them and I’ve had a lot of people bring them by my shop for troubleshooting. They’re not terrible, spend some extra time on maintenance around torquing bolts, inspecting issues before they become problems, etc. At the end of the day, Reded is right, they’re disposable. Most issues can be fixed with parts from a local autozone or Oreilly if you know what you’re doing. Keep in mind there’s a hierarchy of brands here, Kymco is a good brand as they build the smaller atvs for Polaris, they’re solid machines. Personally, my 4 year old son is on a crf50.

Had one as my first quad many years ago. Had the carb top pop off and stick wide open while heading towards a ditch. Needless to say I went flying. Luckily wasn't hurt but wasn't fun either. If you do get one go over everything and make sure its tight and safety wire some stuff. That thing was running around after a shitload of riding though. Only main issue was the frame cracked from me jumping it. Was welded back up and gave it to a friend. Was still running 5 years after we gave it to him

There are better ways of telling your daughter you don't love her.
