Interesting that Mathes said HEP made him a sizeable offer. W/O a new bike in 2023 why would he even consider that option ?

What’s the injury clause in the contract? If it’s favorable then yea he should take it!

I usually think it's a little lame when people complain about the kick starter on the Suzi, but with how much he pushes the front and has to get up, that may be an issue...

Could a team add an electric start to a bike?

One day soon, HEP will be gifted full factory support with the Moto-GP Money, Suzuki will hire the best riders and win indoors and out.

You won’t be laughing then, will you.

We are never far from Suzuki domination. If they want it. Ask the Moto GP paddock.

I'd love to see Suzuki win again. I was shocked to see them win MotoGP. They came out of nowhere...

Could happen.. but how will they catch up on ten years of bike development?

The same way many other companies do, hire some smart dudes, copy what's out there and then refine it or make it fit their needs. Probably even easier now with all the software around to scan, change and analyse almost everything before it even hits fabrication let alone a test track.

I wonder if Kenny's name has come up in the Suzuki talks. He was the last to deliver for the brand and I can't imagine he is really in a great negotiating position with Honda at the moment. We will see.

Good to see Twisted Tea is willing to step up and support that size of contract. Hopefully they are in it for the long haul.

I think it could be Progressive in addition to Twisted Tea. Regardless, awesome that the team is able to secure more funding and support.

Same way they did with the last version of the RM 250 and the 450....copy what works.

Yamaha and Honda did 80% of the development for them.

Sure, but Thisusernameisavailable just said: factory support + great riders = win everything
Even if they decide now to start a development program and hire great people, it would still take them at least 3-4 years to get back to form (took them 5 years racing and even more development time to win in MotoGP). Another big difference is that you need a great production bike in US moto to win, not just a prototype.
So nope, not gonna happen.

What motocross bike had fuel injection before the RMZ450? Honda and Kawasaki were 2009 while Suzuki was 2008. Pretty sure Suzuki had one of the first quads with FI as well.

I really think the best thing for AC would be to switch teams. He would benefit a bike with more front end bias in my opinion.

On 450mx bikes they were the first in 2008 and then 2009 Honda came out with it.

I think I would’ve gotten more excited to see AC on the zook brand the KX. Would’ve spiced up the storylines next season.

I hope this means HEP is going to keep taking runs at some people and will nail down a bigger seat 1 next year.

For speculation fun - who else will be a free agent this year that they could take a realistic stab yet?
