Well, there is a rumor that Jeff Majkrzak(Craig's Farther-InLaw) will be leaving Honda and going to Yamaha so, that would be your answer.

I like Nichols, unfortunately I don’t see him back at Yamaha. Again, I think the team who stands the most to gain out of the 250 musical chairs this season is JGR. Masterpool*, Marchbanks, Nichols, are all possibly on the market. New casino money for JGR and they can pickup some great riders.
There could be some Geico guys looking for a job if a new sponsor doesnt come aboard as well.

If you think star is really that bad, while I think is more some goofy or temperamental stuffs, then you would be reaaallly shocked at general business practices. The world is not white or black, but mostly grey. I wrote a couple pages about it in a thesis, and found in total, in the world, 13.000 billion dollars of identified frauds & other shady stuffs over a 30 years period. (about 100% of the average GDP of the US, through 30 years).

Right now for instance, Nikola looked to have shady practices ... by frauding just 30 billions to investors Wink

I have zero idea what you’re saying.

Basically that 1 or 2 members at Star racing may have been a bit goofy or temperamental during these last few months, but not shady or sharky as many try to paint that team. I don't think they deserve a bad reputation that will last 10 years due to that.

What I was saying too is that if you want to paint that team as shady, I have a 2 pages table summarizing 13.000 billions of fraud over 30 years in the world, and that is a whole different level of shadyness. Business is business.

Not just this year, they have a history of cutting riders before a contract was fulfilled. Including Wil Hahn who is ironically on the payroll again now.

There is also multiple instances of shady dealings to get riders who were under contract with other teams.

Wasn't Frye on a Suzuki ride and then just mysteriously showed up on a Yamaha one day?

Protesting fuel as a complete desperation move to get a title that their rider lost fair and square?

Petitioning the AMA to let McEltrath stay 250s when he's already taken a dive a once to not point out and now has finally pointed out?

They just don't seem to do business with class. They do build a bad ass bike though.

How will this affect Leblanc? Being that he has shown the most potential.

I think what you have for the 450's is accurate although there are many that believe there is a 3rd rider coming. As to the 250's if it were me I'd go:

Cooper
Frye
Thrasher
Masterpool
Nichols

There is also the question of Levi Kitchen and Matt Leblanc. Are they staying amateur for another year? Maybe there is not a place for either Nichols or McElrath. Is Craig a lock there? I just don't understand why he'd be there.

Frye was on a Suzuki, but him leaving had nothing to do with Star being shady. There was no mystery that Star wanted him and he wanted to be on Star according to a member of the Suzuki team.

I love CC, his family, courage to overcome his back injury and being a current top 10 in 450 outdoor but when you see his results in the last 4 years, Star lineup and the 250 guys without a ride, one would question how close to a paid seat is him.

I’m told that Jeff backed out of buying the Star team, but he’s definitely parting ways with the Geico Honda team.
Christian’s brother is currently the crew chief at Star and will likely have a role next year. That and Jeff’s early interest in buying the team probably played a part in Christian getting the ride. I’m ok with it, I just hope he can ride to his ability and stay healthy. He’s a great kid and I want to see him do well !

Hey Peely,

Don’t they run 52 mm Cone Valves direct from WP?

Are you saying that Troy Lee was given forks maybe, but had to figure valving and setting out on their own?

Costs a lot of money to have a bike on track, even with no salaries paid to the riders.

Money has to come from somewhere.

Yes but the team didn’t want to pay WP for testing days for the young guys. Falk and Cantrell were roughly riding Mcelrath’s suspensions setting and were not happy with that. Which created tensions within the riders and the team.

There used to be a guy named Luke (can't remember last name) there that was very good. I think he has moved to Pro Circuit now. A friend of mine bought some of his used personal Cone Valve forks that worked very well.

How does KTM let another good amateur prospect go?? If i were Rodger i would be having some serious meetings & find out whats going on. KTM knew that jett Lawrence was going to be a big talent from watching him in Europe & they never took him on either. The last big successful runs KTM had in 250s was when they brought marvin & kenny over from Europe. Husky had great success with Osborne but when he was winning in 250s he was about 10 years older than the competition.

KTM / Husky / Gas Gas really need to sort there amateur to Pro program out.

& while there at it, they need to pull another 2-3HP up the start straight & get competive again!

The TLD program was great until they went to KTM. Seely, Shane, Nelson, Hahn were all great on those bikes. Once they went orange it seemed to go to shit
