klx 110 steering stem bearings

I have a 2007 klx110, I bought all balls tapered bearings. the races fit fine and the top bearing fits fine as well, the problem is that the bottom bearing will not fit all the way down on the steering column. I have taken everything off.

anyone have the same problem?

Assuming you dont have any tiny burs it could be the bearings. All balls isnt exactly reliable

Not that I know of. The bearing sits about a half inch above the bottom, so they must have given me the incorrect bearing. I will contact them and see if they can get me the correct bearing.

The top and bottom bearings And raced are different in that kit. This is not mentioned on the package. They are not labeled top and bottom, but there is a top and bottom beating in that kit. I had the same issue. Swap them.

I noticed and for sure have the bearings and races in the correct place. Do you know whether they are press fit?

I do not remember.
I think when I had them reversed, it wasn’t even close to slipping over the bottom of the stem. Most lower bearings do press on.
