My guess is Travis is over racing dirt bikes so he's not going shut his brain down and go into win or crash mode. He'll probably make the main, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't race it and gives up his spot to someone else.

I'm stoked that he is racing. But I thought he recently broke his wrist. Hope he's healed and somewhat fit.

don't think that kid has been healed and fit since he was 14.

I wondered about that as well, but I'm not sure how long ago they taped the episodes. My guess is that the episodes we are watching were probably shot sometime last year.

He obviously must have the cast off his wrist (that he had in last weeks episode) since he has been practicing SX the last few weeks.

I don't agree.

I think Travis is not a good loser. You can tell even if it's racing big-wheels he hates to lose. I think he will give it his all.

It'll be interesting!

If he qualifies and is healthy come main event time, he will be racing.

I think he will make the main but 20 laps? Don't think he can hang that long. Prolly fade to the back from a decent start. Still it's always good to watch Travis race.

I'm not afraid for him, though I could see him pushing a little too hard 'cause he's so competitive. I could see around 10th place in the main, give or take a couple spots. Higher if he holeshots it.

Man he's got such a history of wadding himself up in moto more than anything else. I would love to see him keep it up and complete the entire night healthy, but I fear this won't be the case. After I watched him at Daytona a few years back I had hoped he never decided to race again supercross again. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I can shake the feeling that he has another spectacular crash awaiting.
Who are you,his Momma. Travis doesnt need any of you mother hens to be afraid for him.

He should wear one of them Toyota (i know he is Subaru) sumo suits to help soften the hit if he crashes.

I don't really follow freestyle, but I thought most of these guys were still riding 2-stroke.
What did Travis ride last time he raced a SX?

he'll crash and get hurt before he even makes it to the main....like in Daytona.

Last time he raced sx fot the AMA it was on a RMZ450..... I think at the ESPN speed and style (before he got hurt) he was going to ride a two stroke ....my money says he will be on a RMZ450

All this SX race is a Travis Pastrana inferential. He is the smartest most dynamic person in the history of this sport. I am sure he wants to get into the main in a bad way but he wins regardless. Where he finishes does not mean jack shit. Nobody else matters today. James Stewart, Chad Reed who?????????

I would like to see an exemption allowed in situations like this wherein the AMA-SX Promoters can add a gate( I know they can do it for the current top riders) for returning previous champions. A promoters option, most of the people going there are going to see 199. If he doesn't make it out of the semi I expect to see 20% of the people leave before the mains start.

I really believe even if he DOES make the main they should add a gate. Just because he's doing a "one-off" race on a track he designed doesn't mean someone else racing the entire series should miss the main.
