Do you honestly have Donnie Hanson’s works Honda. I would never admit out loud if I had ever ridden that bike.

I often wonder what real works bikes sell for.....I would think Honda would want that back but maybe they have enough of their former works bikes. I know why these bikes are sacred to us 50-60 yr olds, but do they mean all that much to a 20-30 year old? Does the value drop when the generation who seen it, no longer exist?

That's not mine, just one that I heard was recently up for sale with a $110,000.00 asking price. Yes that is a true to life RC Honda. Just have to love those low boy tanks and monocoque air box/ sub frames! The MX team was obviously stealing engineers from the F1 department at the time.

Good point, and something every collector must ponder. I know my father's generation had clamored for those old Winchester carbines, 73, 94's. But they're dying off....seems everyone now wants a composite.

Keyword guess. But you'd be wrong. People will pay 5k for these. It's crazy.

That was a pretty good bike in it's day. Would be hard pressed to not pick up a new Yamaha or ktm though for close that that money, I'd offer the guy 3,5 and walk if that didn't take it.

The value will always be there. Just like the old lever actions. May not be as many into them now, but there will always be some. I just sold a model 94 that would damn near buy me that cr250.

Had a few people comment "that's a pretty clean old CR250" when it was on display at Rio last year. Laughing

OP its worth 5k.

They dont make them anymore, Honda faithful have money. Supply is very limited, it also helps that you can get the TX Race kit for that bike and make it look fully modern.

I think he was quoting me on the number of hours Evo has on that stock 07 he posted. Different bike than the link from the OP.

I also think the guy can get 5k for a super low hour 07. Someone will pay it. They're hard to find.

As a 22 year old I think that Donnie Hansen bike is freakin awesome. But to me the most desirable factory bikes would be from the mid-2000s. A two-stroke or 4-stroke yami

Usually people who bitch about prices of older 2 strokes , are guys that can't afford it and then bitch about it. They always use the reasoning of " yeah....but it's 10yrs old...dude is nuts if he thinks he'll get that much "

Week later....it's gone and someone paid full price or close to it.

I just gave my 05' RM250 back to the same bike shop i got it from. I was offered $4500.00 from a vital member here.

I'll also say....the 06' RC replica RM250 i still have...you couldn't pry that thing from my cold dead hands! Ever!!

THAT.....is why these bikes are worth this much to some people. That feeling right there. Most god damn fun bike I've ever owned!

That guy will probably get $5500.00 for that CR....and the dude that buys it.....it'll be worth every penny!

Can't afford it ? Want to bitch about? The bike is definitely not meant for you. Ride something else.

He is a person not meant for that bike. It'll go to someone who will appreciate it.

What was the actual displacement. 400cc? Who rode that one ?
10/27/2016 8:26pm
I purchased this '01 250 for less than $2k last year. When I saw that it was all stock, with the exception of the expansion chamber and silencer, I got pretty randy.
