I wanted to ask him or another noted trainer a couple questions. Didn't know if it would be him or someone with no clue answering my questions. Are there any professional trainers on here that I don't know about? I can't for the life of me remember.
You could tweet Aldon or Sieji or Ryno and I'm sure theyd answer.
Basically what I wanted to know is if any of those trainers , or anyone in here with knowledge has every used split type training. Meaning , to help simulate an actual moto day. Instead of one grueling long 1hr session , split into two sets. Like a very high intense workout for 20-25mins , take a 20 min to 1/2hr break and then do it again.
I know the 45min to 1 hr sessions are going to help with endurance , but thinking maybe splitting it into 2 shorter , but more extreme workouts as well. Maybe do a split session on day 1 , a full 45min on day 2 , and back to a split again on day 3. Another words , go back and forth between the two.
I'm hitting my cardio every other day , with weight training and other exercises on the days in between , with a rest day thrown in here and there if I think I ne4ed an extra day of rest.
Anyone experiment with split sessions before?

for sure look into interval training, It helps me tremendously and it is really the only way to build cardiovascular capacity. The simplest way I do it is if you go to a High School or community college and run on the track.
1. warm up with easy jog say 2 laps or half mile and rest for 60 seconds.
2. sprint the straight and walk the curve - start at say 70% excretion and then increase so the last lap you are sprinting full out on the 8th lap or 2 miles total.
3. cool down jog of 1 or 2 laps
4. stretch.... we are getting old!!!
There are 100's of variation to this.
if you don't have a track find a route that has street lights at regular intervals and sprint or run hard in between and walk or jog the next interval.
Your endurance will increase this way faster than say running for 30 to 60 minutes... I know I am not a professional trainer, but. I stayed at a holiday inn once

I'm a 48yr old male , and as of 5 weeks ago my resting heart rate was about 58bpm. I am now at around 49-50bpm and I think the cardio workouts are really helping. But I want to try pushing it up a few levels in intesity and possibly try the split session thing I was thinking about.
