I know its a long ways off but we will be hosting a benefit for the Wounded Warrior Project at Vet MX Park in November. Should be a great event. For you guys living up north, our weather in November is usually great for riding so come down and join the fun for a great weekend of racing. We are still finalizing sponsors and support but will have a guaranteed pro purse and a full slate of amateur classes.

Visit http://www.vetmxpark.com for more info. Stick around for the week and ride Vet and a handful of other tracks in the area. Then you can cruise down to south Mississippi for K-Dubs Party in the Pasture!

WWP is pretty much a scam. You should go with the Fisher House instead. They give 95% to the wounded vets, whereas WWP barely hits 55% and the CEO makes about $400,000 per year!

I politely dissagree that WWP is a scam. This is from the better business bureau. 4% administrative costs is very good. As far as a CEO making $400k, nothing wrong with that. It is a huge organization and someone has to be paid to run it.

Guys, the owner of the track is a retired Army Veteran, hence the name Veterans MX Park. I am sure he is unaware of the charities overhead or what the CEO is paid. He was just trying to do something to give back. I will send him this info and he may very well want to change organizations that he is working with.

This should be supported because of the cause not because of a corrupt foundation. If you can go, do it, it still helps

It's sad that we even have to question a vet org who is raising money right? Sucks that people take advantage of others who are willing to help! I hope it gets worked out for the best. It is nice to see a track trying to help!

I personally feel this was ignorant to post in an open forum. As said before the owner is a veteran himself and just trying to give back and instead of handling it politely and privately messaging him and insuring he was informed you made the first response in the thread about why not to support it. Motocross in this area is dying and for him to be willing to give up what may be his only profits this year is pretty incredible why not just be supportive?

Ignorant?

I don't think so! If this can help other people from getting scammed by this horrible organization, then I am glad I posted it! There are much better non profits that help the military vets than this one!

I did not say to NOT support this event, I just said it would be better to go with a different charity.

Do you have any personal experience with this or are you forming your opinion from what you've read on the Internet? It's an honest question by me - I don't have any experience with the organization but I also believe there are too many "internet experts" these days. I can be guilty myself of forming too much of my opinion based off what I hear rather than what I experience at times.

If that was your concern it could have been expressed privately to the same effect. Instead your placing a cloud above this event regardless if you are correct about them or not. Alex is an awesome guy with no moto background whatsoever who simply thought it would be cool to provide us with an awesome track to ride and is putting on an event for us and to give back to his fellow vets. It should have been left at that on here and any concerns should be handled privately.

I have done a lot of follow up on this. Sounds like WWP is a good charity they get a bad rap for spending a lot money to raise a lot of money. I definitely understand why they would be criticized for what they spend, but in the end they do still do a lot of good. Looks the FIsher House CEO makes about the same as WWP CEO as well, both well over $400K.

In the end I didn't make the post to have the charity bashed, but I understand that is part of posting something in a open forum.

If you want to race a great track and help give back to our VETS then there is no reason to not support this event.
