60,000,000$ net worth or owns 60,000,000$ worth of assets? Big difference. Both are impressive, but a person could concievably own 60 million in "assets" and have a very small "net" worth.......especially if they have been very aggressive at investing and using others money to leverage their investments. There are lots millionares in the business world who are cash poor at times.

Magic Johnson would be one of the most notable examples of an athlete who used sports earnings to jump start a gigantic career in real estate investing.

I suggest you look up what "net worth" means. I'll give you a start - Net worth is everything you own, minus what you owe. So if you have a $5.0M house and owe $3.0M on it, that's $2.0M in equity towards your net worth.

You seem to be suggesting that "net" equals liquidity which it doesn't.
