O.K. now did you guys realize there is just too many of them that qualify? You just can't begin to name them all and there's a story behind every one of them.
Miland Garrett
, anyone remember him? Won the Pro class at Mammoth Mountain one year against some big names we all know.
Rich Casselli always had a smile for anyone, even in his "bottle days" Pissed me off one time when He was going to lead us on a ride from Dove Springs and he lead straight to the Jaw Bone store for beer. I was all set for a long ride and to learn some new trails as he knew them all. Couldn't stay mad at Rich though. RIP Rich, see you soon.
Shared a camp spot with Danny LaPorte at Mountain High one time. He said he would give my son one of his take off practice tires after the race. When my kid went to get it his mech had given them all away. After the race he had his mech take off the tire he raced the 2nd moto on and give it to him. His bike went back to LA with just a rim. Another guy that always had a smile.
You know there is just too many nice guys in this sport to name just one.
I remember Milan Garrett. Central Callie racer that was very fast.

You mentioned that Mountain High track......Randy Losh and I talked about how rad that track was.....What ever happened to it?

Agree. Too many way cool guys to name.

I haven't met many US riders, living in England...but i think the nicest guy has to be Sean Hamblin, i had done a drawing for him for the 1st race of the season, i went over and he signed it and talked to me and my brother like mates would in a normal conversation, (unlike some of the Uk and GP riders who wont give you the time of day) he said come back after practice for a jersey and he signed that to me. I was that impressed that I did another drawing of him later in the season. lol

Mike Brown, Josh Coppins, Brad Anderson and Tyla Rattray have all been cool to meet.

But I think Ryan Dungey would be one of the coolest riders to meet in the US and hes been really cool with the drawing I've just done of him.

Jimmy Button!
I can't believe I forgot until I just looked at his old AXO jersey hanging behind me! haha I got paralyzed in 2003 and he was nice enough to call me while I was in the hospital, it meant the world to me and still does to think that he did that.

I hate to say this, but I have raced against Pastrana and his high school voice tone sometimes diminishes what he says. He is very condemnatory towards other riders sometimes, but he does it in what appears to be an upbeat form of expression. He knows he is talented, but often mocks riders who are not. If you watch one of the travis and the nitro circus for example he talks negatively about the trials rider attmepting a backfip you see what the real TP is like. He is like that often just people do not pay attention because of his good boy image.

Wow... small world, I used to work for Milan Garrett before he moved down south last summer.

For sure is one cool dude.

I knew his parents owned a Maico shop back in the day, but I never knew he won at mammoth.

His Daughter raced WMA until this last year.

Steve Boniface - I was cliff jumping at shougal and he showed up with a spedo on to cliff jump with us. I did a front flip off the bigger cliff and he was all excited about it so he said if I did it until he got a picture of it he would give me his jersey. I still have it hanging in my room. He was really cool and talked to us for a while.

Sean Hamblin - Showed up a little after Boniface and was hanging out with us. He was cracking jokes with all of us and it was a good time for sure.

Track was abandoned when the old Lady that owned the land died. Miland Garrett is one of a kind.

Ramsey is way cool. Does lots of Charity stuff.
Tedesco was really cool to my kids.
Mcgrath at times can be.
Ferry is way laid back and will take time to talk in right setting.

And as bad as reputation these guys have, most of the FMX guys are really down to earth. Deegan, Lusk, Potter Twitch, all hella cool people.

You must have worked in the shop making race car wheels.
Milands dad worked for the Fresno Fire Dept. and retired there.
I had a business in Fresno-Clovis for 30 years. Lived on North Fowler Ave.

DV- What can I say the guy opened up his whole life and family to us and made us all fill like we were personal friends with the guy.

Erik Vallejo- Took the time out to talk to a couple kids I brought out to the track about becoming a PRO for like an hour. The kids loved it.

Heath Voss- I did the RacerX gas card thing back in '06 Dallas. Took my friends son with me. Heath walked the track with us and talked about it the whole way with the kid. Then talked to me about Heather. Which made my day! Wink

Davey Millsaps- Dallas '06 there was a kid I know that rides that is Millsaps biggest fan but was not able to go to the race. So Davey called him and talked to him. It made that kids year.

Josh Demuth- What a class act! very personable and loves the kids. You would not think so from first appearance with all the Tat's but he is a super nice guy.

OK, so I'm going to get some crap for this (and probably some '"who's that????'"s), but I'll have to say its the Belgian axe himself, Joel Smets.
He came to Australia in 98 to 'ride' in the ISDE....having never ridden an enduro before - he even rode with a big 'L' plate on the back of his jersey....

The guy was all class - even ran a clinic for the local juniors the day before the start of the event as well!
