Many family and friends (of the riders) were very pissed off,
with the new way that they had to go back and forth
(from the pits to the stadium).

It was the dumbest thing ever. You had to exit the whole facility to go back and forth. All that did was create huge lines and force many unneeded bag checks.

It was a total cluster F' , the pits were jammed too with the new layout. It concentrated everyone in one area, there wasn't any room to move. Plenty of "free spin to win booths ", can't have enough of them.

So what is the deal now? Didn't go to A1. But usually get my tickets with the industry pit pass stickers on them. Were they not allowing you in and out back gate in the parking lot with them like usual?

Allowed in but to get into the stadium, instead of the ramp you actually left the stadium for a short walk back through a ticket with stamp/credential gate. Credentials walked through a gate without any delay but a ticket had to be scanned, bag/backpack checked which caused delays. When you left the stadium you had your ticket scanned again, and went in through the parking lot gate. It was a pain in the ass.

Getting to the pits was a joke this time. We had to stand in a huge line to get out of the stadium so we could walk over to the pits. The reason there was a big line to get out of the stadium was because they had to scan our ticket to let us out and there were only to people doing the scanning. Getting in and out of the stadium sucked this time!

if you had a wristband for industry seating it really was fairly quick. We went back and forth 5 or 6 times throughout the day and evening.Gate 4 right back in and out where they had a separate isle for bands and credentials.

It sucked yesterday, with a sticker you can go through the same entrance/exits as wrist bands at every race, but stickers meant squat yesterday. There was a massive line to exit the satdium to get to the pits, I went to the supposed industry gate and was told sticker access had to be with ticket access, yet there were like 5 people standing doing nothing because no wrist band holders were going through yet the gate where ticket holders went through was your typical retiree Anaheim part time staff (and only 2 of them at that) trying to re-scan tickets for a line of what what seemed a 1000 people.

Outside, went to the credential gate back into the pits (back of the Geico rig) and was told that they had now changed the rules on the sticker access since the morning as they realised 5000 industry tickets had been issued instead of 500, and was told to use the public entrance, stupid but there wasn't exactly 5000 people trying to get into the credential gate, there was only a handful of us trying to get there.

Total change to previous day, went to meet my buddy at their team rig, security guy said that technically I shouldn't be allowed but as I could prove I had an industry pass he let me when I told him where I was going and it was going to be for 10 minutes, did what i needed to and thanked the guy on the way out.

Also, what was the deal with 2/3's of the stadium being out of bounds, they only wanted people to sit in right field, I joined the masses that hopped the barrier in the diamond club and sat in the sun on left field!

That wasn't always the case. I was walking with Nick Wey's dad and he had a wristband, we got turned away at more than one spot. If the morons at the gate didn't know up from down, they were sending people the wrong way and making up rules as they went. I had a hell of a time getting in, was told to "walk around" to the Monster gate area only to be told that it was closed. The head set guy called me a "fucking idiot" when I told him that our credentials were good for the whole day, I had my 3 year old in my arms and my wife in tow. There were 4 other industry folks behind me arguing with the same guy. His superior walked up and let the guy know that he was wrong and then we end up right back at the first gate that told us to go around the first time...Thx, I just walked 2 football fields extra with 35 lbs on my back for no reason.

Before the race started we were trying to make our way back inside before opening ceremony and we were turned away in areas that we had gone through prior. Nick's dad said it best, "my son is in the opening ceremony tonight and I can't get into the stadium to watch him." I walked into the Gate 4 right next to Joe Gibbs(JGR BOSS) who got the same pat down and bag search as everyone else, his credential is 100 miles long. The way they used to run the pit entrance, it would funnel you right into the family section area, IMAGINE THAT, friends and family walking into the family section, what a great idea. The entire time, I was thinking, I hope this is the stadium droping the ball on this and not the promoter. Either way, it was a complete joke and I wanted to go postal as least 5 times. When the race was over, we walked out the back of the stadium and right into the pits, EXACTLY the same spot we were denied earlier both coming and going. FU%*#NG JOKE!

Yeah it was a joke. I just walked past security with my sticker ticket. He told me I wouldn't be able to get back in, but never took or scanned my ticket, so I was like uh okay... Haha most of those guys are completely clueless. It sucks when your friends have credentials and you only have a sticker and they won't let you use the same entrances. So stupid...
