AGV AX-8 and AX-8 Dual Helmets 1

A while back we showed you the AGV MT-X and AX-8 Helmets, but here are some different versions to check out.

The AX-8 is AGV's high-end helmet, with a carbon/Kevlar fiber construction, and three shell sizes. Different cheek pads and liners can be used for a custom fit, and sizing all the way from XXS to XXXL. Development? They received assistance from both sides of the pond, including Travis Pastrana and Davi Millsaps here in the U.S., as well as David and Deny Phillipaerts, and Gautier Paulin.

A total of seven front and lateral intake ports, combined with AGV's IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) combine channels molded into the outer shell and as well as within the dual-density EPS liner, to feed a the rear extractors. Average weight? 1,350 grams (under three pounds). The AX-8 meets DOT/ECE2205 standards.

Here are two color versions that we didn't show you last time around, with the graphic model going for $379.95, and the solid white checking in at $349.95. There are also signature models (not shown) that check in at $399.95.

This black/white model is the Spyder colorway.
Having trouble visualizing the helmet's silhouette with the graphics? Here's the plain white version.

If you're looking for something you can go dual-purpose with for street use, while maintaining your moto roots, the AX-8 Dual offers up something different, with a helmet based on the AX-8 shell, but with a shield under the visor and a helmet vent arrangement, as well as a different mouthpiece that can be opened and closed. The shield itself is fully functional, and uses a non-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate construction. The visor has also been tweaked to reduce the sail effect. You can configure the helmet to use both the visor and shield for Supermoto and adventure touring, removing the shield for a normal off-road mode, or removing the visor for street use. Look at $399.95 for solid colors on the Dual.

Commuting on the freeway? This could be a cool option without giving up all of your moto background.
