The first final of the day was for Speed and Style, which works like this. The head-to-head heats are two laps long, and the riders alternate between hitting the Speed (normal racing line), and Style (a pair of hits on a freestyle lane). A combination of their finishing position and scores from the two jumps determine whether they advance to the next round.
