Pit Bits 2016 - Hangtown

We took a lap around the Monster Energy Kawasaki pits to take a closer look at the KX450Fs, and what had changed on them for the Nationals.

The Factory Kawasaki team has been running oil cooler for the longer motos for many years now. Originally starting off behind the right side radiator, it then migrated on top of the cases behind the cylinder a few seasons ago. It's now moved to sit alongside the cylinder head itself. This is due to their new throttle body, with a bottom-mounted fuel injector, taking up the space that the oil cooler needed.

Both bikes had fresh triple clamps, in a new magnesium color we hadn't seen before. Josh Grant is currently running Showa's SFF TAC forks, with a BFRC shock...

...while Eli Tomac's bike is running KYB's AOSS fork.

The front fender's of the bike featured a sticker in support of long-time Kawasaki rider Destry Abbott, who was diagnosed with Leukemia last week. He's already had quite a bit of support from friends and the motorcycle industry, but if you'd like to help, you can check here.

Josh Grant's bike had a pair of titanium pegs that the Kawasaki team usually uses...

...while Tomac's bike had a sharpened set of stock pegs, with the black coating blasted off, which he prefers.
