With the U.S. getting the 13th gate pick (after a drawing on Saturday morning), Dungey, Canard and Short all started from between where Ryan is in this shot, and a couple spots from the box. The lower number gate pics generally lined up to the inside (on the left of this shot). When the gate dropped, Dungey got squeezed over and ended up with a terrible start.
