You can see quite a few changes between the older style frame (left), and the new Factory Edition chassis (right).

Some of the items that you'll find on the new Factory Edition chassis include.:

The gray frame above is the new Factory Edition chassis, while the red ghost is the old version. A new lighter Chromoly steel frame provides 20% higher torsional rigidity with 30% less longitudinal stiffness resulting in better absorption of the energy created from the rear wheel loads.

Newly designed, laterally attached engine stays (connecting between cylinder head and frame) contributes to improved handling and reduced vibration level.

New smaller, lighter aluminum subframe design. The center of the seat is 10mm lower, while the rear end is 20mm lower.

New lighter swingarm features a revised internal structure and flex characteristic to match the new frame.

A new lighter footpeg design provides a larger surface area and features a “scraper” to reduce dirt build-up in the hinge.

New 22mm CNC machined triple clamps feature a rubber damping system for the upper clamp, and a new Neken handlebar and ODI lock-on grips.

The WP 4CS (Four Chamber System) Fork has been specifically designed for motocross and features revised damping settings optimized for the new chassis.

New generation WP shock has been developed in conjunction with the new frame and swingarm architecture including a new linkage/pullrod system.

A new airbox and air filter design offers maximum protection for the engine while ensuring maximum airflow and providing quick and simple "no tools" Twin Air filter service.

Entirely new ergonomics and bodywork. The new front fender provides additional rigidity and reduces mud build-up, while the new front number plate incorporates the front brake line holder. The airbox cover doesn't require screws, the rear number plate design separates the number plate from the airbox, and the new rear fender incoprorates a structural design as a lifting point.

Claimed weight for the 2015 450 SX-F Factory Edition is 226.2lbs, which is said to be 10.3lbs lighter than the 2015 450 SX-F. We watched the 450 being weighed on KTM's scale, and they were correct. That's a huge drop in weight. The Red Bull KTM crew are looking to be close to the 220 pound minimum when they get to A1.
