Back To School: RCU

You're listening to: Ricky Carmichael. We rudely interrupted his lunch to get some of his thoughts on what makes the RCU unique.
Wow, what a teaching staff. From left: Ricky Carmichael, Johnny O'Mara, Kevin Foley, Jeff Stanton, Jeff Ward, and Jeff Emig. This doesn't include RC's mom, Jeannie, Broc Glover (who did a tire clinic), Bones from Pro Circuit (who talked about suspension)...you get the idea.
Ricky Carmichael lecturing his students.
Jeannie Carmichael was helping teach students cornering techniques she used to drill into RC when he was coming up through the ranks.
Teachers who sit behind a desk? Nope. They also demo what they teach.
Jeannie was reinforcing with the students to not to go wide on the exit of the corners, and knock over the cones.
MX Sports' Tim Cotter, and J.H. Leale.
Jeff Emig was working on starts, and had a cool wireless mic setup so students could more easily hear what he had to say.
Jeff Stanton, getting into it with one of the groups. Riders would spend time with each instructor, moving from station-to-station.
It was awesome watching the instructors interacting with the students.
When Jeff Stanton's not helping out at the RCU, or racing the Vet MXoN, he's been working with Justin Barcia, and it has shown.
There were riders from pee-wees, all the way up to big-bore bikes.
Riders were served lunch, and had a Q & A session with all the instructors.
Johnny O has always been a hard trainer, and still is a cycling stud.
Johnny's in there somewhere, among the assembled students and staff, for a group photo. The RCU is a pretty sweet deal if you're looking to boost your moto knowledge.

Description
The Ricky Carmichael University made its first trip to the West Coast and boasted an unreal staff of champs and teachers. We visit with the G.O.A.T., Jeff Stanton, and Johnny O'Mara to find out more about the RCU.
