Torco Racing Fuels Honda's Dan Reardon grabbed the holeshot in the first Lites heat race, but promptly slid through the tuffblocks at the end of the start straight. Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Honda's Gavin Gracyk and Yamaha Factory Racing's Broc Hepler also had short-lived lead positions before Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey took over the lead.
