One of the ugliest moments of the day happened at the end of the first MX1 moto. Charles Summey (JGR MX / Spike / Toyota / Yamaha) had cruised across the line after finishing the moto in 11th spot. But behind him, Jimmy Albertson and Jeff Alessi were battling for 12th and 13th. As they drag-raced up the finish line jump at the exit of Gravity Cavity, they both easily made the biggest jumps of the day off the finish line. Unfortunately, Alessi ended up landing on Summey, and it looked like he landed with his skid plate on Summey's shoulder. Fortunately, we hear that after a precautionary trip to the hospital that Summey's okay. We haven't received an update on Jeff, but he looked like he was getting some work on his left arm.
