Yoshimura and Dungey Ace Chase Field in Phoenix!

Chino, Calif. - January 18, 2010 - The Rockstar Makita Suzuki team had one goal this weekend at round two of the AMA/FIM Supercross Series -- WIN. After last week's performance in Anaheim where Yoshimura-equipped bikes grabbed two holeshots and second overall in the premier 450cc Supercross Class, all eyes looked to Ryan Dungey to pull it off for the team. This weekend's event, held at Phoenix Arizona's Chase Field, saw the young rider rocket to the lead and take home the win.

When all was said and done, Ryan Dungey used his Yoshimura-powered RM-Z450 Suzuki to grab the holeshot and check out for an easy flag to flag win in Phoenix. Ryan's teammate Austin Stroup followed Dungey into the first turn and grabbed a nice 7th place in only his second 450-class Supercross race!

In the first heat race of the night, Dungey used his Yoshimura power to grab the holeshot and pull away from the pack for an easy win. Yoshimura equipped Honda rider Andrew Short finished in third.

In the second heat race, Dungey's teammate Austin Stroupe pulled a massive holeshot and led for several laps eventually finishing second. A penalty for jumping under a yellow flag however put Stroupe back to 4th. Still, pretty good for a 250 rider who is standing in for injured teammate Matt Moss. The future looks very bright for the North Carolina speedster.

The main event was an extension of the heat races: Dungey holeshot with Stroupe in second, and then... Dungey just disappeared into the sunset. Dungey's RS-4 Ti/Carbon system was singing a sweet sound as he pulled away for a huge win. The victory was Dungey's first in the premier 450cc Supercross class.

It is clear why the Honda and Suzuki Factory racing teams use Yoshimura. Just look to the front of the pack and you will see why. The same quality exhausts that these winning riders use are available to all enthusiasts at their local dealer or on line at yoshimura-rd.com
