Press Release

Yoko signs Enduro legend Juha Salminen and Kimi Räikkönen's ICE1RACING motocross team for 2011

Legendary Finnish motorcycle gear company Yoko announced their 2011 team line-up at the MP11 Motorcycle show in Helsinki, Finland. The Yoko gear will be seen both in Motocross and Enduro World Championship series. The team riders will also play a big part in Yoko's testing and product development program.

12-time Enduro World Champion and two time AMA GNCC Champion Juha Salminen will be Yoko's main man at Enduro World Championship series.

"Yoko is where I started my international enduro career, so this is kind of a home coming for me. I just came from Spain where I have already been testing my new gear and I'm really pleased with quality, fit and look of the new gear. Hopefully I'm able to give Yoko it's fifteenth World Championship title" told Salminen at the press conference.

Yoko gear will also be seen in the Motocross World Championships by ICE1RACING, team set up by former Formula 1 World Champion and current World Rally Championship driver Kimi Räikkönen. Finnish MX1 Champion Toni Eriksson will be riding in the MX1 class and Finnish MX2 Champion Ludde Söderberg in the MX2 class.

"It's a great honor to ride with Yoko gear, because the brand is so legendary. Also, I'm really excited to be part of their product development program" stated Söderberg.

Söderberg's teammate Eriksson was also very excited about the coming season.

"This is a great opportunity for me. Although I won the MX3 championship race last year in Vantaa, Finland, this is a whole new ball game since the level at MX1 is really high. This is our first year, so we'll have to take it step by step and hopefully have some good results by the end of the season."

Juha Salminen will start his World Championship season on April 2nd at Ponts, Spain and Eriksson and Söderberg a week later in Sevlievo, Bulgaria.
