World's Biggest and Richest Freestyle Motocross Competition Returns to LA

Fairplex Park in Pomona Hosts LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross on September 29th

Some of the world’s most skilled and daring athletes will converge on September 29th when Fairplex Park in Pomona hosts the prestigious LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross (FMX) sponsored by LG Mobile Phones.  This mega-event will showcase truly death-defying skills in one of the most extreme# sports ever conceived.

The event features this high-flying sport’s most accomplished athletes, including Nate Adams, who seeks to add his fifth consecutive World Championships title to his storied list of accomplishments and three-time Silver Medalist Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg. While most other major FMX competitions are invitational, the LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross is open to all pro riders who can qualify based on their results from other events around the world.  As a result, the event annually includes the deepest and most complete roster of riders of any event in FMX.

“The FMX World Championship is a fun, unique way for LG Mobile Phones to reach out to our loyal customers,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, Vice President of Product Strategy & Marketing. "We’re proud to have supported the FMX Championships for the past five years."

“There’s arguably no sport in America that’s more exciting to watch than freestyle motocross,” said Rick Bratman, President of ASA Entertainment, the company that produces the event. “There’s seemingly no limit to the kind of gravity-defying stunts these riders will attempt in an effort to capture the crown of World Champion.”

This year the event offers a new head-to-head format that was inspired by the riders themselves, and will create even more excitement around the FMX World Championships title.

“The LG World Championships of FMX is always an awesome event,” said four-time World Champion, Nate Adams. “It is the one competition all year where everyone in FMX pulls out all the stops and tries to make a name for themselves to take home the trophy. This year should be no different. I know they will all be gunning for me.”

The event will crown the undisputed 2007 World Champion, with the winner taking  home a $30,000 first place bounty as part of the $100,000 overall prize purse. It will be televised nationally on CBS on November 18 at 5:00 PM EST with additional coverage on Spike TV and Fuel TV in the US and international distribution to more than 1 billion homes in 180 countries worldwide.
