ST. JEAN D’ANGELY (FRANCE), 15 June 2008 – On the stage of this weekend’s French Motocross Grand Prix in St. Jean d’Angely, Youthstream, the FIM Motocross World Championship and FIM Motocross of Nations commercial rights holder, and the FFM, the French Motorcycling Federation, announced the future of the sport in France.

Today the two parties have signed an agreement from 2009 to 2015 to host MX1/MX2/MX3 World Championship events –with the possibility of hosting also the GP of Europe in France- European Championship events and two Red Bull Motocross of Nations, one in 2011 and one in 2015.

Other than choosing the FIM homologated race tracks for the forthcoming events, the FFM will also manage the interface between Youthstream and the local organizers.

Giuseppe Luongo and Jean Pierre Mougin signing the agreement in between Youthstream and FFM

Youthstream President Mr. Giuseppe Luongo said: “The signature of an agreement with the FFM is a perfect example of the way the National Federations, the FIM and Youthstream work together for the same target. This shows clearly the direction Motocross is taking for the future –wanting their partners to feel involved and responsible and get the sport to progress. Many other Federations are working with the same philosophy. The day all our Championships (MX1/MX2/MX3, S1/S2 and European) are managed this way it will be a guarantee for success. We thank the FIM for giving us this opportunity and the FFM for believing in our partnership. The future of Motocross in France looks bright!”.

FFM President Mr. Jean Pierre Mougin ended: “The FFM, thanks to its vast experience in the field of Motocross and its strong link with Youthstream, will be able to ensure a much better sports outlook for the various French clubs by helping to gradually turn the French Championship status into European and World Championships. The FFM is also extremely satisfied that such an agreement will allow them to be able to create both a stable and most importantly a financial environment for the organizing clubs involved.”
