INDIANAPOLIS– Kawasaki’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., won his eighth Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP/Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series race in front of 54,626 fans at the RCA Dome. Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., earned his second Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites win.

AMA Supercross Class Recap from Indianapolis


  • There have been 48 different racers that have won an AMA Supercross class main event.
  • Seven riders in AMA Supercross history have won 20 races; after last weekend’s win in Indianapolis, James Stewart is now one of them. The win at the RCA Dome was the first of his career.
  • James Stewart is tied with Jeff Ward at 20 wins.

  • Stewart has nine wins on the season.
  • Reed earned his 12th podium of the season; he is the only rider to be on the podium at all 12 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series races. He now has 70 career podiums and 43 top-five finishes.
  • Tim Ferry earned his fourth podium of the season and his 10th top five finish of the season. 
  • Grant Langston, who missed most of the season due to an injury, finished in third place in only his fourth race of the year. 
  • During his AMA Supercross class tenure, Stewart has never won four races in a row. He can break his record this weekend. He has gone on a three-race win streak three times in his career. 
  • Stewart’s win gave Kawasaki their first win in Indianapolis since Carmichael’s in 2001. 
  • For three consecutive seasons, James Stewart has won the 12th AMA Supercross race of the year.

 

AMA Supercross Lites Class Recap from Indianapolis


  • Ryan Dungey rebounds after three tough weekends to win the second race of his young career. 
  • Although he has yet to win a race, Ryan Morais is still in the points lead. He is the only rider to finish in the top five every race this season. 
  • With two races remaining, Morais has a 10-point lead over Ben Townley.

First race in Dallas, Feb. 28th, 1975, Jimmy Ellis won on a Can-Am. 
This is the 28th time the gate will drop for an AMA Supercross race in Dallas. 
First time winners in Dallas: Jimmy Ellis: 1975; Jean-Michael. Bayle: 1990; Doug Henry:1995; James Stewart: 2005. 
David Bailey and Mike Bell won their last AMA Supercross class races in Dallas.
