Payson, UT (Feb.20, 2017) – For the first time this season, all three of the Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS riders lined up at the gate as the seventh round of the Monster Energy Supercross season made its return to Minneapolis, MN, at the new U.S. Bank Stadium. Davi Millsaps and Blake Baggett continued to deliver solid performances while Benny Bloss dropped the gate on his season in the 250SX East championship.

Rider Reports

Davi Millsaps: 6th Place (450SX)

Davi Millsaps made his way to the main event with a commanding ride in his heat race. After rounding the first turn at the front, he would take over the lead in the treacherous whoops thanks to his WP Factory Services suspension just before the end of lap one. He then opened a gap between himself and the rest of the field, taking the checkered flag and another heat race win.

It was almost a carbon copy at the start of the main event, as Millsaps once again found himself at the front of the field. He took charge early, controlling the lead for the first few laps. Davi stayed in the fight up front throughout the race, sliding back only a few spots and finishing the night in 6th place. After seven rounds, Davi holds down 6th place in the championship points.

“Tonight felt good,” said Millsaps. “My speed was there tonight, and I feel we are where we need to be. I am looking forward to Atlanta next weekend and putting the Team RMATVMC-KTM-WPS on the podium.”

Blake Baggett: 9th Place (450SX)

Blake Baggett made his way to the main event with a strong ride in his heat race. He looked good on the tight and technical track, making a late-race pass for the 4th and final transfer spot.

Baggett used the exceptional traction of his Dunlop MX tires to get a good launch out of the gate, rounding the first turn inside the top ten. He continued to fight for position throughout the race and would take 9th place at the checkered flag. Blake moves to 11th in the championship points.

“It wasn’t the night I had hoped for,” said Baggett. “I didn’t get the start I needed in the main and couldn’t move forward. We’ll regroup and be back where we should be in Atlanta next weekend.”

Benny Bloss: 21st (250SX)

Benny Bloss made his 2017 racing debut with the team this past weekend, as the 250SX East championship got underway. After a mid-pack start in his heat race, Benny cut his way through the field for a 7th-place finish and a spot in the main event.

An unfavorable start in the main event put Bloss deep in the pack. He would find his rhythm early on, charging all the way into the top ten by mid race. He had worked his way up to 7th and when making the pass for 6th , and on his way to the front of the pack when he went down.

Unfortunately Bloss would suffer a dislocated shoulder in the crash, ending his first main event of the series with a ride back to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit to have his shoulder put back into place.

“Not the night we wanted,” said Bloss. “I started feeling really good in the main event, worked my way up inside the top ten and was moving forward. Unfortunately, I went down in the whoops and ended my night.”
