Press Release

Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Honda Team Unlucky in Minnesota

AMA Motocross - Millville, MN

Sometimes you just have bad weekends. It wasn't for lack of trying but
the TLD crew could not catch a break this weekend in the rain-soaked
woods of southern Minnesota. The Spring Creek facility was a little wet
to start the day and it took its toll on the team.

Christian Craig,
who has been the team's star rider this summer, went over the bars on a
soggy drop off in practice and jammed his wrist. Craig tried toughing
it out in the first moto but the pain was just too severe so he pulled
out of the days racing. Craig will undergo an MRI this week to find out
the extent of the damage with hopes of returning to the races soon.

Cole Seely and Travis Baker
had days they would rather forget. Seely was running near tenth in the
first moto when he hit a downed rider in front of him. The contact would
damage Cole’s bike significantly but he finished out the moto the best
he could. The second moto saw Cole get a bad start and struggle to find
his rhythm. Cole’s 23-14 moto scores put him in 20th overall on the day.

If
you think Cole had a rough day, you should talk to Travis Baker. Travis
split his chin open on a big step-up in one moto and then got a flat
tire with two laps to go while running in the top ten. His 22-13 motos
for 17th overall were not indicative of Baker's talent or effort.

Tarah Gieger
provided the team with its only success on the day as she took her
CRF250 to 3rd overall in the intense battleground that is WMX
competition. Gieger got good starts, stayed out of trouble and finished
in her usual podium position to garner third on the day and remain in
third in the points chase.

As the series heads to the northwest
this weekend the team is no doubt looking for a comeback race. The
riders will spend the next several days working hard and strategizing
for a big Saturday at Washougal. If you are coming to the race this
weekend, be sure to stop by and say hello. Maybe even test your grip
strength against the team driver and token strongman, Big Rig Travis.
