Houghton, Michigan (10/28/07) – In one of his best races yet, rally car driver Travis Pastrana earns his fourth win of 2007 and his second Rally America Championship title.
WMG rally driver Travis Pastrana clawed into the lead in the final stages of the Lake Superior Performance Rally on Saturday to take the win – and his second Rally America driver’s title.
Coming into this ninth rally race of the series, Pastrana was tied for points with one other driver in the overall championship standings. A victory was all Travis needed to secure the championship title. The competition was fierce, but no one was as strong as Pastrana. With four overall first place wins in 2007, the motocross rider turned rally star was the driver to beat this season as he fought for the title into the last seconds of the final round. Travis won the race with 3.5 seconds on the second place finisher. “That last stage might have been one of the best I’ve ever driven,” an enthusiastic Pastrana said at the finish line. “It was pretty tight. We won. We didn’t crash, and we won the championship too… I’m pretty pumped.” Congratulations go out to Travis for his awesome performances throughout the series!
