Three-Way Babbitt’s Battle Highlights Night Two in Council Bluffs as Demuth Gains Ground in Championship

Aulsaybrook Grabs First Career Lites Class
Victory

COUNCIL
BLUFFS,
Iowa (March 13, 2010)
– Night two of the AMA Arenacross Series’ round from Council Bluffs,
Iowa’s Mid
America Center produced one of the most exciting battles of the season
as
Babbitt’s Monster Energy/TiLUBE Kawasaki’s Josh Demuth, of North
Richland
Hills, Texas won his fifth AMA Arenacross class race of the season.
GPF/Babbitt’s Kawasaki’s Daniel Aulsaybrook, of Ortonville, Mich.,
captured the
AMA Arenacross Lites Western Regional Championship win for his first
career
victory.

After a
dominating victory on
Friday night
,
premier class points leader Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., had his
hands full
on Saturday evening
as his teammates Demuth and Chad Johnson, of Rhinelander,
Wis., battle bar-to-bar with the nine-time winner throughout the 25-lap
main
event. The trio of riders, who have dominated the 2010 season, traded
the lead
on several occasions and even had to deal with the pressure from
reigning
series champion Jeff Gibson, of Thornville, Ohio, throughout the race.
Each of
the Babbitt’s-mounted riders found himself at the front of the field at
some
point but it was Demuth who prevailed in the end, leading the way for
another
Babbitt’s podium sweep. Johnson brought home second while Bowers was
third.

After a
strong runner-up performance on
Friday night
, Aulsaybrook was the man to beat in Saturday’s AMA
Arenacross
Lites main event. The second year rider was virtually untouchable
throughout
the 25-lap main event and led the way to a GPF 1-2 finish with teammate
and
points leader A.J. Catanzaro coming home second. Foremost Insurance
Yamaha’s
Jim Neese, of Julian, N.C., rounded out the podium in third for the
second
straight night.

Bowers’
lead over teammate Demuth currently
sits at 19 points in the premier AMA Arenacross class while Catanzaro’s
lead
sits at 20 points over Reynard Mods Kawasaki’s Cory Green, of Nowata,
Okla., in
the AMA Arenacross Lites Western Regional Championship.

The 2010
AMA Arenacross Series continues with
the penultimate round next weekend from Dayton, Ohio and the Nutter
Center.
