North Carolina State Championships at Rolling Hills

Reidsville, NC - This weekend, April 5 - 6, 2008, for the first time in 30 years, the North Carolina State Championship returns to Rolling Hills Cycle Park, in Reidsville, North Carolina. This event has one of the largest cash, contingency and awards payout, with a value of over $58,000. Factory contingency paid out from Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Polini.

The North Carolina State Championship over the years has been developed into a very lucrative event for riders. The event was built by the hard work and effort of Kent Cameron and the entire Cameron family. The race was held at Devil's Ridge for the past seventeen years. The Cameron's recently passed along the rights to holding this prestigious race to Chad Lough of Boxstar Sports.

The weekend schedule is as follows:

Friday - Gates open 3 pm to Midnight

Saturday - Gates open 6 am to Midnight, Sign Up 7 am - 6:30 pm, Practice 8 am - 1 pm, ATV riders meeting 1:15 pm, ATV practice 1:30 pm, ATV racing after practice.

Sunday - Gates open 6 am, Sign Up 6:30 am, Riders meeting 7 am, Practice 7:30 am, Racing immediately after practice

Admission for the weekend is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Admission for Sunday only, is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Single day passes are available.

"I very excited about bringing the State Championship back to Rolling Hills after 30 years. The inaugural state championship was held at Rolling Hills on September 24, 1978. There is a tremendous amount of motocross history at Rolling Hills, which I want to preserve so parents can bring their children to the track and relive their days of racing here," commented Chad Lough, owner of Boxstar Sports.

About Rolling Hills Cycle Park

Located in Reidsville, Rolling Hills Cycle Park is considered one of the top tracks in the Southeast for motocross racing. The park has been open since the 1970s but has only begun to achieve recognition within the industry in the last few years. 

Rolling Hills is host to the Carolina MEGA and Ultra Series and the Championship Series; two highly regarded southeastern motocross racing series. In addition to these series, the track is host to the Loretta Lynn's Area Qualifier.

Racing events run for entire weekends, with practice on Saturday and racing on Sunday. Rider attendance at Rolling Hills last year ranged from 190 to over 300. Over any given weekend, there will be more than 1,000 people in attendance at one of Rolling Hills' events.
