That’s four for Fontanesi

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 28 July 2015 – Yamaha MXFontaracing’s Kiara Fontanesi put the icing on the cake of what was an epic weekend for Yamaha at the MXGP of Czech Republic. The Italian female motocross legend, Fontanesi, wrapped up her fourth FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship with a smart 2 – 2 result for second over all at the sixth and final round of the WMX world championship last weekend.

In the six round series made up of twelve races, Fontanesi won five races and three overalls to remain undefeated for the fourth year in succession, which is a massive milestone for her as she made history as the first female to do so.

“I never stopped believing I could do it, I knew I could win because the speed was there and when you are almost three seconds faster than anyone else on this track then it means you can make the difference,” she said. “I am really happy and I’m the first female racer to win four titles in a row. This is really good and we are working well with the team. I have taken Pole at every round so I have been faster than the others and this is good to know we are working in a good way.”
