Team Shasta Raises Over $10,000

San Diego, CA – November 15, 2007 – Team Shasta raised over $10,000, much of it donated by great individuals and companies in the motocross community. Walkers journeyed 60 miles during three days at the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

"Because I am still recovering and am mindful of my health I did not walk every mile. I did however walk hand in hand with my husband down the final stretch along side my team members Shaloe and Kim. It was an amazing weekend that will stay with me forever. Stories were shared, blisters were formed, tears were shed and great memories were made. As they say... Pain fades and glory last forever." Said Shasta of her experience. "Without the generosity of all who supported us none of that would have been possible.".

Team Shasta was started by Shasta Johnson, a breast cancer survivor who participated not only for the herself, she also walked in honor of her sister Fiona who lost the battle against breast cancer in 2005 at age 29. Shasta’s team included her husband, Richard Cam Johnson and two of her close friends, Shaloe Nations and Kimberly Lavender.
