Team San Manuel's #7 James Stewart Makes It Seven Wins In A Row

Round 8 – Georgia Dome – Atlanta, GA – February 21st

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 23, 2009) – Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Number 7, James
Stewart, made it win number 7 Saturday night, at the eighth round of the 2009 Monster
Energy AMA Supercross series, an FIM World Championship. Stewart, the 2007 series Champ
and the 2008 AMA Motocross Champ, now leads this 2009 series championship points race
by 3.

For the fifth week in a row, Stewart posted the fastest lap times of the evening, and
continued his perfect “Heat Win” streak taking first, for the 8th consecutive week, in Heat
Race 2 for the direct transfer to the Main. Teammate Kyle Chisholm also ran Heat Race 2,
finishing 9th for the direct transfer to the Atlanta main event.

In front of a near capacity crowd at the immense Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Stewart’s rousing
start nabbed the holeshot and an instant race lead right out of the gate. Leading all 20 laps
of the race, Stewart shot across the finish-line with an official 9.4 second lead over the
second placed finisher. Teammate Kyle Chisholm, qualifying for the fifth Main event of his
rookie season, finished 14th.

“The start was great,” said Stewart. “The San Manuel Yamaha pulled another holeshot. It
was a good race for me. The track was tough but we came out on top. I’ve always liked the
‘ATL’ and I’m glad we could do well here. I want to thank all the fans and all the motivation
they give me. It feels good to have the points lead but there is a long way to go.”
