Team San Manuel Yamaha's Josh Hill Takes First Podium

ROUND 2 - CHASE FIELD - JANUARY 16TH

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 19th, 2010)
- Team San Manuel Yamaha's Josh Hill took his first podium, this Saturday evening,
at a nearly sold out Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.   For teammate, James
Stewart, Round 2 of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM
World Championship, started with a tough crash in Heat Race 2 and ended
with a 15th place finish in the Main.

Josh Hill's strong start in Heat Race 1 had him running close behind
Ryan Dungey and relatively uncontested for a solid 2nd place finish to
qualify for the Main.  Stewart's hard crash in Heat Race 2, forced him
into the LCQ.  Like a true Champion, Stewart put in a strong effort,
took 1st in the LCQ, to transfer to the Main, and had this to say, “I
was definitely hurting at that point, but all I could think about was
how hard I worked to get here, and how hard my team worked, and I just
didn't want to sit it out.  I knew if I had to, I could always pull off
the track.”

In the Main, Hill got a solid start and quickly worked his way into 3rd
place, where he held his position for the duration of the 20-lap race
to record his first podium as a member of Team San Manuel.  Hill had
this to say about his podium finish, "This is exactly how I hoped today
would go for me…better finish and all...I just can't say thanks enough
to Team San Manuel and especially Larry Brooks - they have been behind
me 100%!"

For Stewart, things didn't go as well.  Still feeling the pain of his
earlier crash, James waived the practice lap and focused on getting the
best results possible from the race.  His start had him running 10th,
when rival Reed attempted to pass Stewart and the two collided in a
turn just before the Finish line, on lap 7.  The collision had both
riders on the ground, with Stewart, the only to continue and post a
15th place finish.

James is in Florida preparing for Anaheim 2 while Josh returned to
California to test, train and prepare for the race in Anaheim this
weekend as the points race to the 2010 Championship continues.
