Team Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki Brings Rhythm (and Blues) to Anaheim 3

Byrne Makes Top 5 for the Second Time

Chino CA – February 5, 2007 - In the first turn of Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series heat two, Michael Byrne lived up to his moniker "Burner." He was hot on the tires of James Stewart and Kevin Windham, and his hot riding rhythm earned a 3rd place finish and a slot in the main event.

In the Supercross Main Event, Stewart and Chad Reed played tag ahead of the pack. A Stewart bobble in the fourth lap, allowed Reed to ride up his rear wheel and briefly challenge the front-runner. Meanwhile, Michael Byrne grabbed the gap at fifth behind Tim Ferry and Nick Wey.

"It was great. I rode pretty strong in the main event and didn't make any mistakes. I got a top five finish and the team was pumped. The track was more technical than normal, which is something that I like. Those types of tracks kind of separate everybody a little bit and allow for better racing," said Byrne.

"The team has been doing a lot of practicing to get things dialed for the races," said Byrne. Those efforts are paying off. Burner's finish brings him into 4th overall in the AMA standings behind the sport's top riders: James Stewart, Chad Reed, and Tim Ferry.

Team Owner Brad Williams is looking for Byrne to win or place in the next few events. "With RC off the track, the podium is wide open and it looks like Michael is poised to move into position. His two 5th place finishes show that his new ride is dialed in and he is up to speed on the RM-Z450."

In the Supercross Lites series, Troy Adams continues his standings climb. Troy's run in heat two was an impressive 4th in a group that included Ryan Villopoto, Josh Grant, and Josh Hansen.

"I've been working on my starts all week and it paid off tonight. In the main event, I got my best jump off the gate. I came out up front, but then they had to restart. Luckily, I got off the gate again and rode fourth," Adams said.

Troy felt good on his Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki all night. "My lap times were matching those of Villopoto, so I was really pumped on that." Unfortunately, a crash placed a disappointed Adams in 21st at the finish of the main event. It also binged up an old injury. "I'm still a little sore, so I will just take it a little easy this week." Holding back those Blues, is news that Troy comes out of Anaheim 3 standing 12th in the West Coast Supercross Lites.

Next up, Team Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki is eager to rock and race in Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series in Houston, Texas.
