THQ and MX vs ATV Untamed Named Official Gaming Sponsor of Monster Energy

AURORA, Ill. (December 31, 2007) – THQ returns as official gaming sponsor of the 2008 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, as the popular gaming company introduces its latest title in a successful line of motorcycle games, MX vs ATV Untamed.

Targeting the worldwide fan appeal of Monster Energy® Supercross, THQ will partner with Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc., to create several season-long promotions, including on-site demonstrations and instruction. As a former supercross title sponsor, THQ sees great promotional value in sponsoring the championship, which delivers the hardcore motorcycle and off-road enthusiast.

“Being a sponsor of the world's largest motorcycle racing championship lets us reach over 800,000 of our most valued consumers at live events, allowing them to play the game via on-site kiosks, receive promotional discounts and leave with a playable game demo,” said David Newman, marketing manager for THQ. “This lets them make an informed decision on why they should purchase the world's number one selling off-road motorcycle racing title. In addition to live attendance, we reach millions more through television viewership.”

MX vs ATV Untamed features a new generation of THQ’s best selling off-road franchise, which dates back to its 1998 launch of Motocross Madness, including eight racing modes, massive outdoor environments and a revamped version of the legendary Rhythm Racing™ engine that adds better vehicle handling and dynamic control. MX vs ATV Untamed is available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo systems for the time with the Wii and DS versions.
