Former East Coast 250 Supercross Champion Joins Phoenix Based Game Studio To Develop MX vs. ATV Supercoss

PHOENIX, Arizona – August 18, 2014 – Nordic Games announced today former pro motocross racer and game designer Stephane Roncada joined their Phoenix based development team MX vs. ATV Supercross.  Roncada was a factory Kawasaki rider and 250cc East champion.  He began working in the video game industry fifteen years ago and had previously worked on the original MX vs. ATV games.

“I’m thrilled to return to the MX vs. ATV team,” Roncada said.  “I enjoy making video games tremendously, but to have the opportunity to develop motocross games again is extra special.  It gives me the opportunity to bring what I found most fun and exciting about real racing to many people at home, who will never have the opportunity to race Supercross for real”.

“We are very excited for ‘Ron Ron’ to join our design team of former Rainbow Studios developers, designers and artists.  Adding someone of this caliper who’s competed at the highest level of the sport and is now building MX vs. ATV games will only enhance the series going forward,” said studio head and MX vs. ATV Supercross Executive Producer Ken George.

In April 2013, Nordic Games acquired the rights to the MX vs ATV franchise and quietly began work late last year on a new game with original team members from Rainbow Studios along with select other veteran developers in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rainbow Studios created the successful series of games which has sold over thirteen million copies since its first title, MX Unleashed.  Rainbow Studios built their gameplay around groundbreaking open physics and Rhythm Racing™ where players learn to find the rhythm inherent to the game’s jumps and turns while catching the natural flow of racing lines.
