Stefan Everts to be Honored at USGP!San Bernardino, Calif. - May 13, 2011: The
Legends and Heroes of Motocross Tour has chosen Belgian motocross
legend Stefan Everts as the latest recipient of their Legends and
Heroes Award. The 10 time World Motocross Champion will be accepting
the award in a special podium ceremony to be held at 2:20pm between
motos at the 2011 Monster Energy Grand Prix of the United States at
Glen Helen Raceway.
The son of 4 time motocross world champion Harry Everts, Stefan got
into motorcycling at a early age. Stefan took his first 125cc title at
the age of 19, and went on to become the youngest World Champion in
history in 1991. By the time he retired at the end of the 2006 season
Everts had accumulated a record 10 World Motocross Championship titles,
and 101 GP race wins.
The Legends and Heroes of Motocross Tour is a traveling museum display
that was developed by a small group of dedicated motocross enthusiasts
to preserve the history of the sport. Previous winners of the Legends
and Heroes of Motocross Award include motocross legends like Broc
Glover, David and Gary Bailey, Danny LaPorte and Mike LaRocco.
The tour will travel to MX races throughout the 2011 season, honoring the legacy of these and other motocross greats.
