Star Racing/NCY/Yamaha SF Race Recap

The AMA Supercross Series headed to the northern area of California, visiting the rain soaked city of San Francisco this past weekend. Star Racing/NYC/Yamaha’s Wil Hahn #99 came in optimistic and upbeat, all the while knowing he needed to use his best mud riding skills to maintain his status in the top ten overall points.

In heat number one, Hahn started inside the top ten. In the sixth lap muddy dash, our standout rookie raced confidently and kept his factory backed Yamaha upright, and could be seen jumping triple jumps others would not attempt. In doing so, Hahn forged forward to 5th place, finishing with one his best qualifying performances.

Main event time came, and so did the rain. At the close of lap one, Hahn sat in 10th place and was battling the elements of competitors and a deteriorating track. Midway, Hahn raised two spots to 8th and looked to have everything in order. Then, with only a few laps remaining he got off line, leaving himself to dig out. Luckily, he was able to remount and proceed on to finish up 9th.

Be sure to catch the Star riders signing autographs at Corona Yamaha this Friday.
