THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MOTOCROSS SEASON STARTS FROM BULGARIA

Sidi pilots stand out immediately with their Crossfire boots

Maser (TV), 11 April, 2011 - The 2011 Motocross World Championship kicked off this weekend in Bulgaria, on the Sevlievo circuit. In the first race of the season on Sunday, April 10th, pilots from the Sidi Sport stables in the MX1 class
showed their mettle by being competitive and motivated right off the
bat. Alas, a ringing victory was not to be had, but the Sidi off road
aces placed well on the in spite of an elusive win.

In race1, Sidi’s German pilot Maximilian Nagl made it to third place, and in race 2 it was the same result for Spain’s Jonathan Barraghan.  Overall
it was a good performance; in the Gran Prix general standings won by
Desalle with Frossard in second place, Sidi was able to place third with Barragan (Kawasaki), fourth with Nagl (KTM) and fifth with PortugueseRui Goncalves (Honda). As always, Sidi’s champions in the off road World Championship adventure were counting on their Crossfire boots, the number one footwear for off-road competition.

Unlucky start for the Reigning World Champion. Too bad for Tony Cairoli, who nonetheless remains a shining star in the Sidi motocross universe. The reigning MX1 world champion,
who’s never been fond of the Bulgarian circuit, was penalised by
misfortune in this start of the championship series. During race 1 the
Sicilian ace made a close contact with Goncalves and suffered a bump to
his left knee which slowed him down, forcing him to come away from this
first round in the world cup with a 7th place in the first heat and 10th place in the second race. The season has just got underway, and surely Cairoli will still have time to get his mojo back!
