Camarillo, CA ( August 30, 2016) – The final round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship visited Crawfordsville, IN for the Ironman Motocross National. The Friday rain brought a sticky track but Benny Bloss and Andrew Short didn’t let up as they finished the season strong.

Benny Bloss didn’t let the track conditions deter him during morning practice,as Engine Ice  kept his KTM producing max power in the sticky mud to help him post the 3rd fastest time of the morning. He continued his momentum into the first moto, as his Pirelli MX tires dug deep into the soil to propel him to a top five start. Bloss would battle at the front of the field for the full moto, taking a 7th place finish. Benny would start moto two in 6th place until going down hard on the first lap leaving him with a bloody nose. He would remount, almost a lap down and put on an incredible charge from outside the top twenty all the way to 11pth place at the finish. With his solid ride, he would claim 10th overall on the day and locked down 6th place in the championship standings, just missing out on 5th overall by 1 point. For his hard work all season, Benny was awarded the 2016 AMA MX Rookie of the Year award at the MX Sports Banquet ceremony on Sunday.

“Today I felt good” Bloss explained. “Finishing the season off with a top ten and then ending 6th in points has exceeded my goal! Thanks go out to the whole Team BTO Sports crew for  giving me this opportunity and believing in me.”

The day was all about Andrew Short, as he was lining up for his final racing of his professional career. With the crowd cheering him on around the whole track, Short would go out in moto one and battle the entire moto, finishing 13th. As the gate dropped for moto 2, Short used the explosive power of the FMF Racing exhaust to grab the holeshot in his final moto of his career. Unfortunately, his moto would be cut short soon after due to a bike issue.

“Today was exciting” Shorty Said. “It was great to get the holeshot in my final race. It was a lot of fun and I thank everyone at Team BTO Sports for putting in the hard work this year. I am looking forward for what comes next in my career.”
