Ricky James Looking to Capture a Win and $20K this Saturday in Bully Dog Challenge Cup

San Bernardino, CA (December 17, 2009) – SoCal SuperTrucks and Ricky James, the 21 year-old paraplegic race car driver from Murrieta, CA, have their sights set on capturing yet another victory and the $20,000 purse this Saturday, December 19th in the Bully Dog Challenge Cup, part of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series. The Rockstar Energy 2009 Challenge Cup is the last race of the series, taking place at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex.

Ricky James and his SoCal SuperTrucks Super Lite have been nothing short of amazing this season. Coming into the series late and as a rookie to the sport of off-road short course racing, James placed his truck on top of the podium, winning 5 out of the 6 last rounds.

Ricky was paralyzed from the chest down in a motocross racing accident in March of 2005. SoCal SuperTrucks outfitted the Super Lite race truck with hand controls that allow him to control the throttle, brake, clutch and shifting with his left hand while leaving his right hand free to steer.

I can’t wait for 2010 to come so I can focus my sights on taking home the overall Championship.”
