Revitalised JDR Motorex KTM team ready for Coonabarabran

JDR Motorex KTM’s all-star
team will enter this weekend’s sixth round of the 2011 Rockstar
Energy Drink MX Nationals in a rejuvenated mood after taking advantage of a
month-long break in the calendar.

Heading the team’s charge will be 23-year-old Pro
Lites contender Matt Moss, who looks to improve upon his handy 27-point
lead in the championship standings just past the halfway point.

Recent rounds haven’t been easy for
Moss, from the South Coast of NSW, as he’s battled a fractured
shoulder blade, however the time off has him raring to race on
Sunday.

“All in all
I’ve had a sore wrist during the year and then I hurt my shoulder, so
the four weeks off has really helped me heading into Coonabarabran,”
Moss explained.

“My body now
feels really good and I returned to riding on Tuesday this week. Straight
away I felt comfortable and the bike’s awesome. It’s a track
that I like and it suits the way I ride – I can’t wait to get
started.”

Joining Moss on the
team’s fleet of factory-supported 250 SX-F race bikes is Queenslander
Brenden Harrison, 21, and Victorian rookie Josh Cachia, 19, who is the
reigning Under 19s champion and has already mounted the Pro Lites podium
this season.

Harrison will enter
the round on a high following a huge learning experience in the United
States since Toowoomba’s fifth round, travelling to California with
JDR Motorsports’ U.S. operation to train and prepare for the second
half of the MX Nationals series.

“The tracks in America are really good and every time
you go somewhere there’s a fast person to ride with,” Harrison
said. “To me it seems like something’s clicked and I’m
back to normal on the bike, so I’ll be going home and trying to get
some race wins under my belt. I’m not looking for podiums anymore
– I want to start winning.”

JDR Motorex KTM’s lone Pro Open contender this
weekend on the 350 SX-F will come in the form of 2007 national champion
Daniel Reardon, the 25-year-old Queenslander determined to turn his season
around after a string of injuries and bad luck have hampered his opening
rounds.

Reardon’s Open class
teammate Ryan Marmont has been forced out following recent ankle surgery,
and an incident last weekend saw Top Gear KTM’s Lewis Woods also
ruled out with an ankle injury that required surgery.

Toowoomba Under 19s round winner Jay Wilson will be
looking to continue his impressive run of results for Coastal KTM, while
another rider to watch for this weekend is 16-year-old American Aaron
Simonoe on an MXRAD-supported 250 SX-F in the Pro Lites.

Round six of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX
Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, will take place at
Coonabarabran in New South Wales this weekend on Sunday, 19 June.
